Strong
A heart-wrenching sob tore through the silent night,
The tears that kept falling, she tried hard to fight.
His hurtful words seared across her heart painfully,
And a cry escaped her throat as she cried brokenly.

She loved him whole-heartedly, although she never realised,
Until it was too late, he told her that he lied.
A hot tear moistened her now parched lips,
For the love she never had, she quietly weeps.

Sparkling sapphires were her deep blue eyes,
It was his will that was hard to defy.
Long sooty lashes casted cresent shadows,
On her flushed cheeks, her breathing was shallow.

She silently sat atop her empty bed,
Her pillows were wet from the tears she shed.
With the only beam coming from the moon,
And it lit up her room with a silver shoon.

She was tired, so cold and alone,
In the warm night she was chilled to the bone.
Another tear trickled, its wake seared,
And her heart broke, she burst into tears.

She lifted her head with a renewed strength,
And she no longer held him at arm's length.
In a swift motion she stood on the floor,
And held her head high and walked out the door.

She stood tall with a triumphant smile,
A ravishing beauty against the dark tiles,
She was free, her life must carry on,
She is no longer weak, she is strong.
