Fear
The seed has fallen,
On and into the ground.
No one listened,
It didn't make a sound.

It grows slowly,
Its branches spread.
I feel something,
At the back of my head.

I see it now,
Big it is indeed.
This tree that roots me down,
Was sown from a seed.

It holds me down,
With vines long and tangled.
With each passing hour it tightens,
Leaving me breathless and strangled.

In time I find,
I cannot move.
And I try my best,
This heart to soothe.

I feel the chills,
In this moment here,
Rooted to the ground,
By just a seed of fear.
