MILAN - Giorgio Armani is veering off in his signature label and Emporio collections. "I wanted to shed the Armani straitjacket," said the designer after his winter show of lacy frills, hot pants and graphic black and white stockings. A Spanish reflection was mirrored in his cropped jackets paired with lampshade miniskirts or shimmering shorts and black lace mantilla shawls. Every outfit was worn with printed hose and stiletto heels. Armani's "femme fatale" has jewel-encrusted heels, short skirts just over the butt and wispy chiffon evening dresses with bra tops (a sash braided over the breasts). Over at Roberto Cavalli, skin-tight leather jumpsuits, vinyl mini dresses, gowns slashed with slits and thigh-high boots gave new light to Vegas-inspired rocker chick fashion. His new "Just Cavalli" line for the younger set featured camouflage and fluffy neon furs bottomed out by to-the-skin jeans.
