Dodging

The act of dodging is simply one of Athletics. The dodge is a specialization of Athletics. To perform a dodge, the player declares the dodge after the attack has been made. The combat pool may be used to help dodge, but any combat pool used is taken away just like you were using it for a melee defence.

The Target number is a base of 4. The skill of the attacker is added to this target number, as is the number of bullet coming at the dodger. That is assuming that the dodge is for bullets....In the case of melee attacks, it is just 4 plus the skill of the attacker. If reach is used against the dodger, that is applied as well.

Example one: A Security Gaurd with a pistol skill of 3 fires a burst fire pistol at someone who wants to dodge, the target number is 4+3+3=10.

Example two: A troll mercenary with a heavy weapons skill of 7 fires 10 rounds. The target number will be much higher. 4+7+10=21....Try dodging that....

Example three: A street samurai attacks another runner with his katana. The sam's skill is a 5. The 5 plus the base target of 4 comes out to a 9. Should the sam use his reach against the runner, the target number jumps up to a 10. Otherwise it stays a nine.

The Auto-dodge

This gives the any character who possesses this talent a chance to dodge or parry any attack coming at them using armed combat, athletics or unarmed combat and their whole combat pool.

This is done with out the loss of the pool!
