| Katie Katie was a newly adopted kitten as of March 2000. She was found (like Ball before her) crying in a tree, abandoned and afraid. She was about seven months old here. She felt like a silver cloud. Katie adored attention and stole your heart. |

| Unfortunately, a visit to the vet told us Katie tested positive for feline leukemia, a usually-fatal disease that affects cats in much the same way that AIDS affects human beings. Because she was young and healthy, we hoped Katie would overcome the disease and test negative at a later date, but that was not to be. She became ill during the winter and finally passed away.
