________________
I'm not actually Marilyn Monroe or the character she played in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, one of the movies I love, although that movie is the source of my computer name.
(It's the movie with the song, "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend.")
In fact, I think anyone who knows me would say I'm not at all like
Lorelei Lee.
(And, yes, it is spelled differently!)
If you've been here before, you will realize I've been
moving my webpage to Geocities from elsewhere.
My page has been around for three years now, but it was time for a change.
I've been through a lot of changes, myself.
I'm a grown-up single-again woman with three grown children,
but I live in my childhood home with my mother and my brother.
This could change again if I'm hired for one of the teaching jobs I'm trying to get.
I would love to teach in my home town,
but that possibilty seems quite remote at this time.
Since I have never done an internship in a public school,
I need to be hired as a regular elementary teacher to complete the one-year probation. In the meantime, I have worked in six McDonalds, one Long John Silvers, five Domino's Pizzas, three truck stop/ travel centers, and a horse-racing track, besides the seven school systems where I have subbed, the center where I taught Head Start and worked with day care children (newborns to age 13), and the two elementary schools where I worked with the Title I program.
I'm nothing if not versatile.
I graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I have a teaching minor in art and a non-teaching one in mass communications. I have subbed in North Carolina, Kentucky, and Tennessee, taught Head Start at WKU's Campus Child Care Center, and worked in the Title I program. Presently, I hold an apprentice teaching certificate in Tennessee and the Statement of Eligibility (not unlike a driver's permit for teaching) in Kentucky.
I am a writer and an artist. My gallery of online art can be found here: Lorilei's Gallery.

I love working on my webpages.
Please visit often, because I'll be changing things around
as I move into my new space.

Hope you enjoy your visit!

The animated cartoon doll at the top of this page was created by Calichica.
She has a great site if you are interested in adopting cartoon dolls.
