OK, so the author did sort of redeem himself about the college thing. I agree that not many actually need the residential college experience. According to Murray, the deep thought, comprehensive liberal education that used to be the only type of college experience available is the only thing that should earn a BA. In vocational colleges and formerly liberal ed. colleges that now allow classes like "Graphic Novels" to fulfill a Literature requirement should only hand out certificates when the program is complete and a test taken. Certification test scores would show employers exactly where an applicant stands compared to other applicants in regards to their knowledge of the field; whereas, the BA does not show them anything besides the ability to get a BA.
