My trip to Amish Land
It was me and 2 friends.  Reggie stayed home and continued to bring home the bacon. =)  We had five days to drive to Illinois, pick up horses and drive back.  This was some adventure.  We drove straight through.  It took us about 19 hours.  That includes getting a flat on the trailer, and next gas station stop changing two more tires before they went flat.  But we made it safe and sould.  Here are a few pictures.
The amish man we visited was so nice.  His whole family was.  He  took the day off to take us around and show us some shops. We visited a shop where they make buggys and carts.  We visited where he works.  He does wood working making cabinets and such and we visited his farm.  It was a really nice time.  They made us feel very welcome.  His wife made us lunch one day.  The kids were great, all 11 of them.  I learned the Amish choose to live a simple life without a lot of junk cluttering things.  They live by the good book.  They take turns having church in there in their house.  The house was very open, not a lot of walls.  All the kids go to school until the 8th grade.  Then they learn a trade.  Some work at home running a farm or ranch.  Others go to work.  They travel by horse and buggy or bicycle.  When they decide to make a change, the whole community is in on the decision.  I learned a lot but want to learn so much more.  I'll see what I can learn next summer.  I can't wait! =)
