the Reviewers Choice Award and a book cover award
from Road To Romance International. "Im delighted that its been so well received." Bingley has taken more than two years to write her new book. The first challenge was the research-learning curve. Set in Fredona, New York, the book mentions places like the historic White Inn and New Hampshire. "I had to go and research the names of streets, restaurants and hotels in the area to make sure that it matched the plot. Originally, I had a car going off the cliff, but there were no cliffs in the area so we worked with the existing geography. "I also visited websites to learn about what detectives look for when they arrive at a crime scene and how they go about an investigation." The second challenge was juggling her family responsibilities with creative time. "Now that I have a three-year-old and a five-month-old, the only time I get to write in the afternoon is if I can get them both down at the same time for a nap. It was a lot of late night writing." Bingley credits her family as the secret to her success. "Theyre so supportive. My husband, Joey, takes the kids to give me writing time. He gave me a laptop computer for Christmas and hes setting up a website for me." In turn, she bounces ideas off him. "My son, James, talks about me all the time at school. One day his teacher invited me to the classroom to talk about writing, publishing and everything I do. The students were great. They had a lot of questions prepared." Bingley even tried out some of her childrens stories on them. As for the future? Time will tell, she says. "I have a book coming out next year in August. Its called Lorelei. Its set on P.E.I. Its not a murder mystery. People will be surprised because its something different for me. "Its about a girl who grows up dealing with death and learning how to accept it. She grows up with insecurities and has trouble finding love. It was very different for me." Copies of One Eye in the Darkness and The Night She Came Home are available at P.E.I. bookstores.
