5x18 The Pine Bluff Variant
The "bookends" of each season seem to usually involve a lot of trust issues, and this one does as well. There is a perplexing opener, in which we wonder what on earth Mulder is doing and why he wouldn't be filling in the one and only person he trusts, Scully. In the end, it's good that she gets in on the case. There are some pretty suspenseful moments here, not to mention the frightfulness of it all! I think that bio-warfare is extra scary stuff. Just rent Outbreak and see for yourself!
