| Many people I talk to say that the movie is just another episode, only longer. That's probably because each episode is actually a movie itself anyway. Regardless, it's one of my very favorite X-Files works. It's perfect for fans or first-time viewers, even with the obvious character "introductions" in the beginning. I feel immediately that I'm watching something special when I turn it on (hence my argument that it's more than just another ep). The mythology is elaborated upon, as is the partnership and relationship of Mulder and Scully; we get to see the Lone Gunmen, Skinner, and, of course, all those nasty conspirators! The plot is quick-paced, enthralling. It's what got my dad (and many, many others) interested in watching the show. There's just not much else going on to me in Hollywood which can compare with the thought-provoking intelligence, quality, and captivation of the X-Files, and Fight the Future is darn near close to perfectly encompassing this. I REALLY hope that Carter is able to continue the Files through this medium. A+ |
