Relations with Others:
- In his work, LAURENT is happy innovating, in the setting of a friendly group. - Friends could be an important factor in LAURENT's financial success. - LAURENT may inherit some assets. - The major transformations in LAURENT's personality will chiefly be brought about by his family.
LAURENT is driven by strong personal ambition on every level of activity. However, he is so bold and intrepid that he does not always correctly evaluate the degree of risk and danger to which he will be exposed by the conflicts he intends to face. His ambition drives him to be especially active in the world of business. Whatever field he chooses, he will be extremely attentive to productivity, although his attitude towards follow-up and development may be a bit spotty. His viewpoint on the distribution of power and the redistribution of profits between the various associates of the same corporation is liable to elicit some hostility. If he does not learn to control his aggressiveness and fighting spirit, he may be the center of friction and conflicts at his workplace. In his private life, he may have to deal with a quarrel or dispute concerning an inheritance, as well as some arguments with his wife about how to manage the household resources. LAURENT's personal ambition could fuel a business or corporation which recognizes his qualities. In this case, he truly has the ability to increase the economic or sociocultural wealth and standing of the corporation. A gifted manager, predestined for executive functions, he is an expert investor for a business's human resources as well as its capital assets. Although some of his associates may resent his high opinion of himself, he has a gift for resolving the personal dislikes and frictions that keep a group from functioning smoothly. He knows how to unify and motivate people. Privately, he is almost excessively proud of his corporate position, and he may tend somewhat unfairly to believe he is personally responsible certain corporate successes. The fact that he feels almost indispensable to the other members of the group is his weak point, because it may arouse jealousy and hostility. An unhappy relationship experience may suddenly force LAURENT to reconsider the way he engages himself or cooperates with others. In particular, his approach to the distribution of wealth and resources in a partnership (or his household) may be challenged, causing a problem. His rather aggressive and sometimes arbitrary attitude is liable to disrupt the relationship. If this proved to be the case, the crisis might force him to change partners or get a new job.
Material Assets and Resources:
LAURENT's intelligence and thought oscillate between acting as a medium for the collective unconscious and being confused. He is curious about psychological problems, and tends to explore the enigma of the unconscious and the beyond (metaphysics). LAURENT organizes his daily life and schedule in a practical and pragmatic way, according to a fairly rigid, preconceived notion of the purpose of life. Perhaps his student years left him with an unpleasant memory of discipline, effort, and deprivation, as he strove to pass those exams and maintain that grade point average. This would explain his inability to " mellow out " and relax even in everyday circumstances, his harried demeanor, and his somewhat formalistic approach to his lifestyle and thought processes. However, even though his spirit is something of a conformist, he should try to exploit his powers of concentration by engaging in a long-term intellectual endeavor. His relationship with those closest to him (siblings, neighbors, friends, etc.) are subject to his feelings of insecurity, which he should outgrow as he ages.
LAURENT's idealism tends to take form as something related to the notion of duty (which may be religious, political, or medical). LAURENT sometimes needs to compare his social status to his philosophical principles and express his findings. Idealistic and ambitious, LAURENT aspires to cultural, spiritual, or social advancement, as well as recognition, prestige, and social power. The approaches he might adopt to reach this goal would be strictly conventional: university degrees, grants, etc. Were he to choose a less conventional path, desire and sometimes pride might feed into his rugged-individualist spirit. With his eyes open to distant horizons, engaged in an ongoing effort to include new findings in his personal vision of the world, he will be attracted to study and research. He is apt to pursue in-depth abstract inquiries in a variety of fields: philosophy, religion, law, foreign languages, etc. Travel or adventure in faraway lands might be a recurring theme in his life. Psychologically, he must be careful not to let greed and the desire for social advantage, personal prestige, and honors corrupt his appetite for knowledge. On the contrary: it is by using his intellectual skills that he will elaborate the best possible way of maturing, without losing sight of the deeper purpose and meaning he wishes to give his life.
LAURENT is likely to challenge the opinions and beliefs he inherited from his family and social class. His vision of the world and his convictions compel him to defy usage and convention; his desire to change human relations for the better makes him approach social rituals like job interviews and applications differently. His lack of respect for hierarchy, rules, and custom, combined with his desire to be effective, enable him to skip steps on the social or professional ladder blithely and confidently. However, he does not always overstep the limits with impunity. His mind is especially attracted by novelty, and he is impressed by state-of-the-art technology and philosophy. He is looking for the untried, both as an individual and for society, because he sometimes feels it is important to change his lifestyle. His search may lead him to travel, and he could even settle abroad. In religious terms, he rejects most forms of traditional belief.
Emotions and Creativity:
LAURENT will fly into setting up his household with great enthusiasm, but the climate there will be subject to impulsiveness and outbursts of stormy weather. Inheritance may be a factor. Psychologically, LAURENT is captive to a strong family tradition, or in reaction against it. His mother, the person who transmitted most of this ancestral lore, and his childhood are doubtless a major component of his psyche, his imagination, and his memories. A powerful feeling which expresses his own idea of security was formed while he was a child at his mother's side, and it has subsisted into the present, increasing in potency. It may be the reason why LAURENT is especially sensitive to insecurity. This latent anxiety is expressed as an acute sensitivity. LAURENT reacts strongly to any difficulty likely to disturb the harmony of his home, the well-being of those close to him, or simply his own freedom. To conjure away the danger, he prefers to be a slave to routine, mechanically repeating certain little habits and compulsions all day long. He clings to a small number of intimates, with whom he tends to be possessive, since he is emotionally and psychologically dependent on them.
Cultural and Intellectual Pursuits:
LAURENT's circle of friends may undergo profound metamorphoses. LAURENT seeks the presence of friends who provide a stimulus. LAURENT aspires to a better, more humane world, finally cleansed of its evils. Unfortunately, he has never taken the time to structure this generous ideal into a clear strategy, and the means for accomplishing it are usually quite vague and confused. It is a case of wishful thinking, and little more; a hope he shares with a certain number of friends, and never gets any further. However, his circle of friends may enable him to engage in cultural or artistic activities (music, literature, film, drama) which would introduce more transcendent and universal values into his personality. Art would be a productive channel for his idealistic and imaginative energies. |
