Of birthdays, photos and nutrition news and the way I keep getting those darn sugar blues!
Howdy, howdy, howdy! Today is my sister's birthday and I still haven't figured out what to get her. I usually buy her a gift certificate from Barnes and Noble or buy her lunch or both, but wish I could think of something new! She's supposed to come over Tuesday or Wednesday so I'll have to figure out something by then. Meanwhile, I'm sending a couple eCards.
Time is flying past and I have to get everything done around here by the middle of September when I have important business to attend to that will take me out of town a couple days and change the rest of my life (for the better, it is hoped).
I'd like to say I work best under pressure, but actually I get nervous as heck when that occurs. The trouble is I'm such a procrastinator that, in the end, the ONLY way I work is under pressure!
I've been photographing all my dolls still and the new dolls and outfits as they come in (I blew a ton at eBay, but I did get lots of bargains) and putting them up at Yahoo! Photos and then I decided to make albums at my Flicker account (they let us use larger format pictures which look better). Both feed on to this 360 page. My nieces have finished making their selections of dolls (each got 2 dolls in the end and an extra outfit or two for them) and I have put notes on the pictures of dolls I no longer have. At least my little dollies are still in the family. he he
Meanwhile last week I had my niece overnight when she picked hers out. She's thirteen and we stayed up ALL NIGHT watching DVD's, talking and eating chips and dip for supper and steak and eggs for breakfast! Now she knows how upside down I do things. I actually DO know nutrition, but what teenager wants nutrition on a Saturday night? She told me that was the first time she went to sleep as it was getting light. I asked her a couple of times if she wasn't sleepy, but evidently she got a second wind around 10 or 11 and was on from then. Then earlier this last week she and her brother, who's 11, came over for the day (their mom works the school year at the school board but had to go back before the kids actually had to go back to school). They took turns playing Cake Mania and Fish Tycoon on my computer. Hunter played his X-box or whatever it was, and Blythiee played Sims...the language the Sims use cracks me up. I fed them their Mom's Hamburger Helper she sent along, mini-corn-dogs and chips. I actually had healthier stuff to give them, but no. Now I love a lot of healthy vegetables and fruits, love lean meat and drink a lot of water, but then I occasionally get those binges...and I love bread and potatoes...a major no-no for weight loss at least it works that way with me. When it comes to the health fanatics I believe a lot of what they say, however; they're not just picking on junk food any more (you know processed food, fried food, white sugar and white flour) no, now they're trampling on things that were once thought healthy. It's getting so I feel the motto for me should be "if it tastes good, spit it out". lol Anyway, Blythe and Hunter were good as gold and we had some laughs when we were all in my living room joking around. It was good to see them again.
As usual on the weekends and sometimes weekdays, it's early in the morning and I'm just now going to bed. *sigh* Well, that's all for now...look for new photos in my albums at Flicker and at Yahoo! Photos and I'll be back later.
