All's well that ends well...
Well it was rough there for a while, but I made it. My server, Charter, finally had to make a house call and everything seemed to work just fine for days, but today I got an error message 3 times that supposedly I was sending spam (this was my problem before, it was mis-identifying my outgoing mail that way) and finally I had to take the graphic off to get it out. Now, I've used this graphic about 50 times so it can't be that the graphic is the problem. *sigh* I don't know what it is but I suspect that there is still an ongoing glitch with charter and when it goes off it "flips" some toggle-like thing that makes my email go back to doing that once I have a connection again. In other words, I'm no computer nerd. lol I KNOW if I call them they will just say well if it's going out, then it must be the graphic. My friend made this sig tag for me and, as I say, I know I've used it AT LEAST 50 other times in emails and no problem. *big sigh* The owner of the plumbing service that's been recommended highly to me came to see for himself and the good news is that--Rotor Rooter was wrong--I will NOT have to break through my built-in shelves in my master bath nor replace my shower stall--hooray! Just have to get the sink and shower faucets repaired and we're talking maybe $250 compared to like over $1000. They were going to call me back but I believe I'll go ahead and call them and make the appointment to get the show on the road. I had my car serviced and it is back in working order (the ABS light had been on about a month) and was less than $300, after a tuneup, new oil filter, oil change and steering system flush, plus inspection. They would LIKE to do about $4800 worth of work replacing anti-lock brake system, but I'm not going to put that kind of money into a 10 year old Honda. They said it is not necessary, I passed inspection and still have good brakes, just the light indicating I need that service will stay on and I won't have the extra anti-lock brake system. Obviously, I need to consider looking at a new car in the not too distant future. The other reason I don't want to put that kind of money into my Honda is that I've already committed to having the front and side yards landscaped by the same people who are going to take over mowing and treating my lawn. They also do weeding! With my back, my heart and my knees there is no way I can do that out there especially in the kind of heat we get here in summer and with my large front yard. The backyard will have to be landscaped at a later date; it's huge. I can't wait for this to move forward but it will probably be a week or two before he has time to start it. Actually the week ended on a high note because my sister-in-law and I went to my niece Katie's housewarming and enjoyed her hospitality and her beautiful home. She has put her heart into decorating it and it's beautiful. It was a fun day and we got to visit with family and friends as well. Then Linda and I went to lunch afterwards (since I couldn't eat a lot of the yummy goodies there). So since I emerged without real scars from last week, I hope to be able to handle the next time I have a week like that without going into orbit. I'll just have to remember that panicking won't help and these things happen to everyone--usually all at the same time. Right? You may have to remind me... And what a week I have ahead, but in a good way. Yesterday I started it on a the best note at Sunday morning worship, (but I missed bible study ). Afterwards the women from our small congregation, including the teenage girls, all went to O'Charley's for lunch. Usually (but not always) every first Sunday of the month we women (those that can, anyway) go out to eat after worship while the men have their business meeting. Today is Monday and at 3 pm today I finally can get my perm (and by now I need a trim again)--yay! Been waiting 2 weeks for this. I hope to get my color redone the following Monday. Tomorrow, so far, that is, I only have a board meeting at 5 followed by a "bon voyage" dinner with family for one of my five nieces, Becky, who heads back to college for her sophomore year. Therefore; I plan to start back TOMORROW afternoon going to my water aerobics class and/or working out at Fitness Plus. I haven't done this in about 2 months. Wednesday I have a meeting about finances in the morning, I'd like to go afterwards to Jacki's house to swim, depending on her schedule, of course. Then, bible study is in the evening. Thursday very early in the morning I'm taking my youngest sister, Jacki, to the hospital for an outpatient procedure. These things always have to be done at the crack of dawn, of course. Usually people are doing these things for me so I'm happy to be able to pay the favor back to someone. The following day is Friday and my sister, Kim, comes in from Kentucky for the weekend and she will be staying with me for at least two nights, possibly one other night with another sister. I have an appointment with my massage therapist around lunch and I really need that, my back has become really bad since I neglected the massage for so long. Heck, it's no longer just my lower back, it's down the back of my legs (sciatica) and up in my neck. On Saturday we will be having a birthday party for Kim at my sister Carolyn's house. She lives on the lake and we'll probably be going on the boat and having hot dogs and hamburgers. That's always fun and I'll probably bring something to contribute to the meal, as well. Don't know what yet. In between will be various chores (I STILL have to go through all the junk piled up on my card table in my office...arghhhhh), errands, lunches with friends or family and a possible doctor appointment I hope to make today. Being retired sure is a lot of work! lol!
