A busy week

It's Thursday and it looks like I've gotten through this busy week fairly well (so far), although Sunday was kind of rough. I didn't make it to church and in the afternoon the hard thing was we went to Forest Lawn because we had to inter my brother's ashes. We had a very short small ceremony with our preacher, John, and the immediate family only and Greg's son Colin spoke something he had meant to read at the funeral service (but he ended up really sick that day). Of course, we were awash in tears by the end of it, but it was very meaningful to us. Let's face, it inside we are still grieving very much. Later some of us, including John and one of his daughters, went out to Fatz for a late lunch.
Chopped all my hair off and had it colored on Monday--ha! (See photo). Tuesday I had a fun day with my youngest sister, Jacki, and our niece, Katie. We went to Hickory to "Fantastic Finds" a store that's a combination of a fleamarket and a museum :), then on to another antique store (and I only spent $5!!!!), then out to lunch at Ruby Tuesday's, one of my favorite restaurants. Yesterday I went to the bank to discover if I had anything in my lockbox there (NO), then over to my sister Jacki's to swim in her pool. My sister-in-law was there, too. We all three managed to get sunburned, Linda went on home and Jacki and I had lunch at her house. I had made and brought chicken salad and tuna salad, salsa and nacho chips and Popsicles. Later I went on to Wednesday night bible study then afterward a few of us from church went over to Sonic in Newton and sat outside, drinking slushes and/or tea and munching on burgers, fries, onion rings or tater tots. It was a beautiful balmy night.
Today I have to get off here so I can finish getting ready for two things; 1, my regular visit with my internist and 2. a family meeting at the company. I just hate that I have gained a small amount of weight especially now that I am going to the doctor's. I'm trying to get back on my regular schedule of how and what I eat, so I can forget about nacho chips and tater tots now! LOL Ordinarily the only carbs I eat are from fruit and veggies and I don't count potatoes as veggies when they are fried! At least I have been getting around, walking and swimming (what I do is the basically make laps of the pool, but underwater, I can't do the Australian crawl or the sidestroke, never could master the art of proper breathing...I can also dog paddle a little *rolls eyes*).
Tomorrow I have a morning appointment with yet another doctor, a podiatrist I see just to keep an eye on my feet because I'm diabetic, then if it doesn't poor I may go to Jacki's pool again. Friday night I have to make baked beans in the crockpot and bake brownies for Melvina's surprise birthday party for Bill (don't worry, Bill never gets on the internet), the most he does on the computer is play Solitaire. It will be his 70th birthday--although you'd never know it--and Melvina is having a cookout at her house this Saturday. Most of their family and friends and most of MY family (also her friends) and my friends, Trudy and Larry, will be there for hotdogs and hamburgers. It should be a pretty big gathering so we are praying it will not rain! Bill thinks that she is having a small family cookout in honor of her daughter-in-law's birthday, so he is already help get the lawn and grille ready. lol
Well, Saturday will end the week well, if everything goes as planned and then Sunday starts another week with Sunday morning worship. I hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend!
