| By: Kelly_mvpics Luke enters the upstairs apartment to get into the safe. When he opens the door, he finds Jess adjusting his belt and walking to the chair with a book. Luke is getting deja vu. He looks towards the closet, then looks back at Jess- who's now innocently smirking as he sits down and reads. Luke- "I thought I heard voices?" Jess- "Is that so, Donnie Darko." Luke ignores the comment, largely for the fact that he has no idea who Donnie Darko is. Luke- "Is Rory in here?" Jess- "Nope." Scuffling can be heard from the closet. Luke- "Is Rory in here?!" Jess- "Does Polly want a cracker?" Luke- "I mean it Jess! I told you the rules- now is she in the closet?!" Jess- "I told you no already! Geez, do I need to get a bouncing yellow ball for you to follow along with or what?" Luke hears a giggle from the closet, then the sound of a clang of hangers. He rushes towards the closet as Jess gasps out a "wait!". Luke yells into it. Luke- "Rory, I want you to leave and go home. I want to talk to Jess alone. Please." Rory- "What are you doing?" Luke turns around to find Rory standing at the rooms' entrance door. Luke- (confused) "Rory?" Rory- (pause) "....Luke?" Jess- "Well he sure ain't Colombo." Luke- "Sorry, I thought..." Jess- "...that wearing that cap too tight can pop grey cells?" Luke glares at Jess with embarrassment. Luke- "Well, Rory, I guess you're here to see Jess so I'll just get what I need and leave." Luke gets into the safe to retrieve some cash. Jess smiles and gives a sigh of relief. Luke turns and goes to walk out. He stops at Rory. Luke- "Oh, tell your mom that I'll be over to fix that drip tomorrow. Rory- "Well, actually, that's why I'm here. She left about an hour ago and said she was coming here to see you." Luke looks at Jess. Jess looks down, then off to the side. Luke looks at the closet. Luke- "Lorelai?" Rory looks at Jess in confusion. Rory- "Why does Luke keep talking to the closet?" Jess- (shrugs) "Hey, why question a man who still wears flannel." Luke opens the closet door.... and finds Lorelai standing inside. She's grinning wide, and completely red faced. Lorelai- "Um, hi (giggle). Gee, I bet you're asking yourself why I'm in Jess' closet " Luke- "It's safe to say that wondering where Saddam is right now is taking a back seat to this." Rory- "Mom, what's going on? Why is your lipstick smudged? Why is your shirt untucked? Why is your lipstick smudged and your shirt untucked in Jess' closet and.. oh my god!...MOM!! " Lorelai- "It's not what it looks like!" Luke- "You mean finding you standing here half dressed and mussed isn't really happening?" Lorelai- "Well... yeah , but, it's just that, I was, I'm in here because...Gee, where's Rod Serling when you need him?" |
