Prologue ~*~* The Merman ~*~*

Jess

Ariel.

Another version of a perfect boyfriend too spruced up and tall. Tall, another word which makes me inferior. So? What is it with perfect, tall, polite idiots have and that I dont? One word. Rory.

Ariel.

Its a fuckin mermaids name! Ariel and Rory. Rory and Ariel. The princess of Stars Hollow to wed the royal merman of the Hamptons. If I only had the chance to write the invitation for their wedding it would be blunt like that, no corrections or anything just the real feel of plastic dreams.

She followed the life of a social butterfly. She defied her mothers dream of her being independent and true. She mocked the whole world of it being real and unfair. No, she chose to be dependent on someone who will forever be distant also fraudulent. In a few hours they will live together in bliss and sing songs together with Flounder under the sea.

Im going crazy just thinking about how Im not going to be the one standing next to her at the altar, holding her hand , looking deep into her sparkling azure eyes and saying I do at the cue. I remember walks, silent conversations, stolen glances, unforgettable banters, stolen kisses, and the love that was never spoken off. The attraction was phenomenal yet both were too scared to pursue.

Its been years since I saw her last. We were in the bus she was heading off to school while I leave for Venice Beach. She did not know that though. I neither wrote nor called her, an action that Im deeply regretting right now. It doesnt mean though that I never thought of her. I think about her constantly! Every minute, every second of the day shes always on my fuckin mind! Hell, I want her out!

I need to move on. Damn her and the way she invades my thoughts. Maybe this wedding will seal off any more of my craving for her. I need a drink.

Lorelai

White. A lot of white. I dont even know why she even invited me since she practically disowned me as her mother. After all this time she hated me for pulling her away from the life that was intended to despair. I cant believe that everything changed. There he is with all that pretentious aura hes radiating. Id rather let her run away with someone she loves than watch this awful circus unfold before my delicate eyes. I wonder if she did ever love someone. I did twice. I lost both of them. I was too late to realize what I had. Then one day it was all gone, poof. Just like something that was created and then immediately destroyed.

Ariel.

What kind of name is that anyway? My daughters going to be called the Mrs. Ariel Locke! A mermaids name! A prissy name!

I guess happiness is just an illusion for her. This is all a dream. This is all a dream. Im going to wake up tomorrow morning put on my fluffy slippers and everything would be the same again. There is no one called Ariel , no extravagant wedding, no differences, and especially no false hopes.

I want my baby back. I want my baby back.. I want my baby back.. ribs. I need a drink.
