| Chapter 7 Carson was shocked. This was something he never thought would come up in this line of work. The other four guys already had tears in their eyes. Carson swallowed in a loud gulp. He didn�t know what to do or say, for once. Even the producers that constantly shouted in his ear was silent. Nick felt all this, and decided now was a good time as ever to �spill the beans� so to speak. He reached over and took Kevin�s microphone. �Hello, everyone.� He said quietly into the mic. He wanted to talk louder but was afraid of what would come up a and out if he did. Te producers somewhat got the hint and quickly and turned it up. �We are all here to y you, In person, that the new Album, ,and tour is post pone until further notice.� He said officially. His stomach felt ill like butterflies were flying all around. Carson looked u at Nick. �Why? � he said simply. He had a guy feeling what it was, but he head to ask anyways. Nick sat there, staring at the floor, trying to think of how to say it. �I-I� He started. he swallowed hard and closed his eyes. � I have cancer. And I need to be in the hospital to start aggressive treatments of chemotherapy and radiation.� He said slowly. People in the audience were now sobbing loudly. All the screams and shouts from outside had ceased. Carson sat there fro a few minutes, thinking on what question to ask next. �how long have you known about it? What kind of cancer? He asked simply again. All emotion drained from his voice. It was safer for him not to fell right now. He had been friends with all the guys, and now this has happened. �I've known for a few months. I had been doing outpatient treatments but they weren't working. I have a tumor on the left side of my brain. They need to get it smaller before they try to operate on it.� � We came here to tell the truth. People are going to wonder why there is no tour or anything, and why Nick is continuously in the hospital. And we all feel that if people know the truth, then Nick can concentrate on getting better.� AJ said. �But why come o out and say it. Why not just hide it?� Carson asked. � Because it�s easier to just have people know, than it is to hide it.� AJ said just a simply. Nick leaned over slightly to Kevin and whispered something. Kevin nodded and Leighanne helped Nick offstage, the audience still crying. �Before we go.� Kevin start, as all the guys stood up. � we would like to make a request that you respect Nick and please don�t hang outside the hospital that Nick is at. Let him get well in peace and please, on Nick's request don�t send flowers or gifts.
