| Chapter 12 Janes P.o.v I subconsciously moved my hand over nicks fore head to move a strand of hair that was in his face. His face for once looked peaceful as he slept. The natural paleness coming back to his skin is a warm welcome compared to the yellowish color of his malnutrition. A stray tear fell from my eyes as I sat by his bed, watching him sleep so soundly. I was so glad he was getting well. I honestly didnt think I could handle losing my baby to this. I've been thinking on a good time would be to tell him Ive separated from Bob. As much as I love my husband, my children come first. I couldnt handle the verbal abuse he was doing to Nick. it wasnt helping Nick, it just put him in a deeper depression. Mom. A soft voice sounded. I looked down on Nick and saw him still sleeping. Mom, you should go get some food and sleep. I turned around to see my eldest daughter slowly walking into the room. Hey Beej, honey. I just wanted to see Nick but he was sleeping. BJ came up and put her arms around my neck and hugged me, putting her head on my shoulder. Look at him Beej. Hes getting better. Hes getting his old beauty back. look at how peaceful hes sleeping. Another single tear slipped down my face again. Momma, dont cry. Hes getting better, you should be smiling. I know hunny...I know. I turned around to hug her. Now, why don't you go get some sleep and some food in your stomach. I looked at Beej, then turned to look at Nick. :Alright, I will. But will you stay with your brother for a while. I dont really want him to be alone. Yes I will. I havent told him about our father and me yet. Im frightened of his reaction. Hes been doing so good. more tears fell down my face. Its ok mom. I understand, and Nick will too. Now go. I bend over and gave Nick a kiss on the forehead. I love you Nicky. I whispered so silently that only he could hear. I walked to the door and was closing it behind me when I heard, very quietly I love you too mom. A smile crossed my face as I heard it, knowing that It was true, and he meant it. **************************************8 Chapter 13 Chapter 11 Table Home |
