JAM Rookies of the Year

2001 -- EDWARD "TEX" MILLER, Ghettoblasters
Miller displayed fine JAM spirit, a live bat and a great glove at first base to win the inaugural presentation of this award.

2002 -- TREVOR WIESSMANN, Ghettoblasters
Wiessmann made all three putouts in left-center field in the top of the fifth inning, short-circuiting the Patches' early offensive spurt.

2003 -- J ALEJO, Patches
Alejo played a spectacular left field, robbing Chris Blakely of extra bases with a diving catch and making several other tough putouts on fly balls. He added a hit.

2004 -- ANDREW STRAUSS, Ghettoblasters
Strauss went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs to help the Blasters to victory.

2005 -- BILLY TAGLIAFERRI, Ghettoblasters
First baseman Tagliaferri went 2-for-3 with two RBIs to lead the Blasters to their fourth win in a row.

2006 -- LEAH VANDELOO, Ghettoblasters
A late addition to the roster (and nearly a Patch), she led off the bottom of the ninth with a single and scored on George McShane's double.

2007 -- KEVIN GOURDINE, Ghettoblasters
Gourdine had a couple of excellent catches among his five putouts in center field, and he had two key singles and an RBI at bat.

2008 -- ALEX JONES, Patches
The designated hitter had two hits and drove in three Patches runs.

2009 -- "BIG FISH," Ghettoblasters
The late-arriving and enthusiastic left fielder had two hits, scored a run, and made the defensive play of the game when he raced down a blast to the warning track by Tony Gerrits without putting his beer down.
