MOST VALUABLE JAMMERS

1993 -- MIKE CAMPOLI, Boom Boxers The JAM's founder, in the inaugural JAM, went 4-for-5 at the plate, tracked down the balls hit his way in the outfield, and displayed unparalleled JAM spirit, though in the end the Boom Boxers lacked the firepower to overcome the Patches.

1994 -- JOE E. O'LEARY, Boom Boxers In the highest scoring JAM in history, Joe E. stood above everyone else, many of whom had fine afternoons in their own right, to become to first player to hit for the cycle, a feat not matched until 2001.

1995 -- MIKE CAMPOLI, Ghettoblasters Campoli went 4-for-5 at the plate and belted two home runs to lead the offensive charge, and played a fine defensive first base, to lead the Ghettoblasters to their second consecutive championship. This performance earned Campoli MVJ honors for the second time.

1996 -- SUE SMITH, Ghettoblasters Smith stunned everybody by striking out an All-Time JAM record nine batters in a complete game, 11-8, victory. Among her victims were Jer Silkowski, Geoff Bowler, and Carter Morgan, all of whom struck out with runners on base.

1997 -- GEORGE McSHANE, Ghettoblasters McShane was the epitome of a complete player, turning in a stellar performance at shortstop and completely closing off the left side of the infield, while going a perfect 6-for-6 on offense.

1998 -- CHRIS BLAKELY, Ghettoblasters The 6'6" left fielder was a rock in the outfield, making six crucial catches to keep the Patches at bay, and he went 3-for-4 at the plate to take his JAM average to .900.

1999 -- ARTIE McSHANE, Patches The first Patch ever to win the MVJ and the second half of the first pair of brothers to win the award, McShane dominated the 1999 JAM with three hits and seven assists at shortstop. He was instrumental in the first Patches win in six years.

2000 -- JOE LICHT, Patches Licht keyed the second straight Patches win with spectacular left-field defense. He robbed Chris Blakely of a two-out extra-base hit with a running catch on a ball hit directly down the left-field foul line and had several other solid plays. Licht also went 2-for-4 at the plate with a big sixth-inning double.

2001 -- ARTIE McSHANE, Patches McShane accomplished two historic "seconds" at 2001: A JAM Odyssey. He became the second JAMmer ever to hit for the cycle, matching Joe E. O'Leary's feat in 1994. That helped make him the second person ever to win two MVJs, along with Mike Campoli in 1993 and 1995. The slick-fielding shortstop also short-circuited several Blaster rallies with his defense.

2002 -- JOHN LICHT, Ghettoblasters Licht went 4-for-5 at the plate with two doubles and a triple. He had several key hits for the Blasters and was stellar at third base as the Blasters won their first JAM since 1998. With John following brother Joe (2000), the Lichts became the second set of brothers to win the MVJ Trophy, joining the McShanes.

2003 -- MIKE CAMPOLI, Ghettoblasters Campoli stroked a third-inning home run to tie the game, then put the game away late with a two-run double. He was 4-for-5 with three runs and five RBIs to earn the MVJ honor for the third time, the first JAMmer to do so. He also made a running catch in the first inning to take away an extra-base hit from the rallying Patches.

2004 -- KEITH EMMER, Ghettoblasters Emmer's two-run single in the top of the ninth inning led a four-run rally that provided the Blasters with all the insurance they would need. Emmer was 3-for-5 with three RBIs for the game, scoring twice and playing stellar defense at second base in his third JAM.

2005 -- Co-MVJs GEORGE McSHANE/DAVE SWARTHOUT, Ghettoblasters Swarthout had nine assists at shortstop to lead a nearly flawless Blasters defense in back of McShane, who struck out five. Swarthout added a key hit in the game-breaking eighth inning.

2006 -- GEORGE McSHANE, Ghettoblasters McShane went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, including the game-ending double with one out in the bottom of the ninth, to win the award for the third time, the second year in a row. Pitching a complete game, he also earned the win for the second year in a row.

2007 -- JOHN LICHT, Ghettoblasters Licht, batting second in the Blasters' potent lineup, had a two-run triple in the third inning, then tripled and scored in the five-run sixth. He also had five assists and a putout at third base.

2008 -- REBEKAH GOODHUE, Ghettoblasters Goodhue pitched eight innings of effective relief to earn the win, holding the Patches scoreless in her first four innings after they scored eight runs in the first four innings. She then drove in the winning run with one out in the bottom of the 12th.

2009 -- CHRIS CROWLEY, Ghettoblasters The Blasters' captain was recognized for assembling a team that won its eighth JAM in a row. He legged out an infield hit that typified his team's relentless attack.
