As the scene opens, you see a young boy around the age of eight sitting on a coach. The coach this young boy is sitting is old, green, and raggedy. The old coach has a stain on the side and the entire room reeks of stale beer. As the young boy sits on the old coach staring at a vintage television set, his face shows no emotion. This child for some odd reason is watching the news attentively, it seems as if nothing else in the world maters.
Then you hear the news reporter on television, "This is Barbara Fogerty and I am here at the scene of the tragic plane crash that occurred today. Behind me you see the remains of Flight 69."
You see the simple remains of a plane in the background. The wings have been clearly torn off, the sides of the plane are nearly bare, and smoke is still coming out. You see police wearing yellow jackets slowly going through the wreckage.
"We do not have a detailed report on what happened, but we are getting early reports that so far no survivors have been found. I don't really know what to say"
Just then there is a loud knock on the door. The young boy still stays emotionless and he doesn't move a muscle. Seconds later the door opens and a man's voice echoes throughout the house.
"Little Jerry, where are you? Little Jerry"
An older man in his mid fifties with graying hair and a brown suit sees the child and walks over to him. The man sees what the young boy is watching and says "Jerry, you shouldn't be watching this stuff. It's bad for a young boy of your age."
The young boy slowly turns and looks toward the man with a single tear rolling down his cheek.
"Uncle Chuck, are my parents dead?"
The man looks down at the floor and a sad look goes across his face.
"I, I, I don't know Jerry. I was hoping you didn't find out about that accident. I don't know what to tell"
The phone rings and Uncle Chuck jumps back a little as the sound surprises him. The phone then rings a second time and the little boy, Jerry Flynn, jumps out of the chair and runs over to the phone. Uncle Chuck tries to stop him but all he can do is yell.
"No, stop Jerry, let me get that!" says Uncle Chuck.
It was to late, little Jerry picks up the phone and says, "Hello!"
At first there is a pause, then the voice on the other line finally speaks, "Is this the residence of a John and Amber Flynn?"
Little Flynn says stuttering, "Ye, yes, this is."
The person on the other line with a sincere voice says, "I am very sorry to inform you, but John and Amber Flynn have been found deceased at the approximate time of 5 PM. They were found on the plane crash of flight 69."
Little Jerry's face turns to a pale white. He then drops the phone and stands in absolute shock from the news. Uncle Chuck walks over to little Jerry and puts his arm around him.
"Little Jerry, everything will be O.k.? It will all work out."
Little Jerry then just looks up to his Uncle in all seriousness and says, "No it's not Uncle, I must now go out into the cruel world and make the name of Flynn live on forever. I want no one to ever forget the name of Flynn. My calling is to be a hero for all mankind."
Uncle Jerry shacks his head before he says, "Little Jerry, what do you mean? You are not going anywhere, I have to watch and take care of you."
Little Jerry Flynn pulls his Uncles arm of his shoulder and stands up straight, "Thank you for your kindness dear Uncle, but its time for me to be a man, because that's what I am."
Uncle Chuck's jaw nearly drops to the ground, "But, but, you're only eight years old. You have plenty of time to be a man and go out into the world."
Little Jerry Flynn tears off his shirt reveling his massive muscles and puts his chest out with pride, and says in a strong defining tone, "Thank you for the advice Uncle, but this is my time! My time! Lighting Foot Time!"
Uncle Chuck's eyes glaze over, "What is a lighting foot?"
Little Jerry Flynn looks his uncle straight in the eyes and says, "Not my parents nor anyone else know this, but since the age of three I have been training in every form of karate. I have been perfecting one specific killer move that is simply called, Lighting foot!"
"Little Jerry, you have had a very traumatic day and you really should get some rest." Said a concerned Uncle Chuck.
"Sorry Uncle, but I am a butt kicking-babe pinching-lighting packing-gum chewing-son of gun, and I must fight the evils of world as only a Flynn can do." Says a determined Little Jerry Flynn.
Uncle Chuck puts his left hand on his head as he goes into deep thought. "Sorry Little Jerry, I can tell you're determined to do this but I can't let you." Says Uncle Chuck.
"Uncle Chuck, you will not be able to stop me. I am sorry to be this way but my calling is to be a hero and nothing will stop me from that." Says Jerry.
A serious Uncle Chuck says, "But I will not let you."
"But you can't stop me!" after saying that Little Jerry Flynn starts walking out of the house and then Uncle Chuck grabs him by the shoulder. Right at that moment Little Jerry Flynn connects with the Lighting foot on his Uncle. Uncle Chuck goes straight down to the ground, as he is instantly knocked unconscious.
Jerry Flynn looks over his limp Uncle Chuck's body and says, "Sorry Uncle, but I can't let anyone get in my way of accomplishing my destiny."
Little Jerry Flynn at the tender age of eight walks out of the door and into the sunset. But before walking out, Jerry Flynn was just a mere boy, now he's a man that no one can stop.
