Special Rules

Komissar: Each platoon can buy a Komissar if it has a present HQ unit.

Artillery:  A radio operator is not needed for the off-board artillery units.

Guards: An army can be upgraded to be Guards.  Each platoon will get its point value increased by ten points.  Each model will get +1 to its shoot value and it will never retreat in disorder.

Helmet: A model equipped with a helmet will gain +1 defense.

Komissar bravery: If the Komissar’s platoon fails a courage test, he will automatically shoot and kill its commander and the Komissar becomes the commanding officer.

Long bayonet: A long bayonet will add +1 to the first HTH roll when attacking enemies in terrain, dug in or entrenched.

Mob up: At the beginning of the game, a platoon can be formed into one large unit instead of individual squads for movement, shooting and HTH.  In middle of the game, a platoon under 50% strength can mob up with another platoon below 50% strength.

Officer: An officer will get a 4+ save if wounded.
