Kibbs Sydi: In his words
It seems like such a long time ago. Where do I begin?
Perhaps my childhood. No, that's no important anymore. I'm still trying to forget my life on Courisant.
But, maybe that's where I can start. When I left Courisant, I was hoping to start over. No, get the start I never had on Courisant.
I wasn't very old. I think my teens. When I got on that ship, I remember being scared and excited at the same time. There I was, boarding a refugee ship, by myself, not knowing where I would end up. If I was a little older, I don't think I would have done it.
Well, maybe I would have known better than to pick this ship. Because I would soon discover it was a 'permanent indenturment' transport. Yeah, a slave ship. Even if the Empire won't acknowledge it, they know it exists.
I was able to hide aboard the ship until it landed on another planet. I never knew what planet it was, since I wasn't there very long. When they moved some of the slaves off, I slipped out among them.
All I can really remember of that world is that it had trees. Trees like I'd never seen before, for as far as I could see. It was nothing like Courisant.
But, I also remember that it was here that I met those who would change my life forever.
