For more details, check the info on Breeds at the Anarchy Online main site.
Professionals in the tasks of guard duty, patrol and combat. Usually
they are aligned with one of the two opposing forces, Omni-Tek or the
rebels. Loyalty is one the highest-priced traits of a well-paid Soldier.
favourite breed: Solitus, Atrox
Good at: Combat with all types of firearms
Least favourite skills: Nano technology
The Martial Artist uses discipline and spirituality in the quest to find
balance in the world. These modern seekers travel from place to place
on Rubi-Ka. Martial Artists hope to be the anti-dote to what they perceive
as the superficiality of the world's technology and culture.
favourite breed: Solitus
Good at: Close combat
Least favourite skills: Firearms and some types of crude technology.
In a world dominated by technology, robots and computers, it is important
to have people with the ability to repair and manipulate equipment. Engineers
are able to handle some nano technology, but are more known for their
skills with electronics and robot pets.
favourite breed: Solitus
Good at: Technology
Least favourite skills: Direct combat
Fast and silent action is the technique of an agent. Sometimes the task
will be to get information, other times to assassinate an important person.
They use technology in their work, but always try to keep a low profile.
Good knowledge of nano technology is also important.
favourite breed: Solitus
Good at: Concealment, light combat and Nano technology.
Least favourite skills: Heavy combat.
Some prefer the silence of the wilderness to the hectic city life. They
travel between cities to explore the deserts and get to know the breeds
and monsters living in the outback. An Adventurer must be willing to do
some combat, but cunning is often more important. The Adventurer is the
yardstick, which all other professions are measured against. They know
a little bit of everything, but are not the most specialized. If you want
to be a self-reliant character, this might be your choice.
favourite breed: All
Good at: Scouting the wilderness
Least favourite skills: Heavy weapons.
In the vast corridors of Omni-Tek, this is a much more dangerous profession
than it might seem. The political fights inside the bureaucracy often
turn ugly. A Bureaucrat is often proficient in a wide selection of theoretical
skills like healing, technology and nano. Also, these are experts on manipulation.
They are often very charismatic, though their names would suggest otherwise.
They are second to none but the Engineer when it comes to controlling
Robots. Many of their Nano Formulas enable them to summon aid from the
"home office".
favourite breed: Solitus
Good at: Nano Formulas, Manipulation and Robot Pets.
Least favourite skills: Combat
The Enforcer is an all-round, dirty fighting class. They are the absolute
best at melee weapons! There is an almost unlimited demand for strong,
efficient Enforcers in any combat situation. None can take as much damage
as the enforcer, no one. You want to have lots of hit points left when
the fight is over? Become an Atrox enforcer and dual-wield something short
and hard.
favourite breed: Atrox
Good at: Brawling, simple technology
Least favourite skills: Nano-Technology, complex weapons
This is without doubt the expert on healing. Doctors can use skills or
nano, but nobody can out-heal a surgeon. The demand of doctors is always
higher than the supply, on a planet with constant fighting. On other planets,
healers avoid combat, but on Rubi-Ka the doctors have to know how to defend
themselves.
favourite breed: Solitus
Good at: Healing
Least favourite skills: Combat
These strange people are found everywhere on Rubi-Ka. They are specialists
in the science of controlling clouds of small robots. Both sides in the
planetary conflict desire to add nano techs to their group. People from
all over the galaxy, interested in nano technology, travel to the Rubi-Ka.
The Notum and Jobe makes this an Eldorado for the profession.
favourite breed: Nano
Good at: Direct nano technology
Least favourite skills: Combat
The trader isn't only among the best "merchants" on Rubi-Ka, but they
know how to trade more than money. Taking one skill, turning it into another.
Taking health from opponent, and giving it to the team. The Trader is
a very wide title.
favourite breed: Solitus
Good at: Social skills
Least favourite skills: Wilderness survival
Even in an advanced futuristic world like Rubi-Ka, people believe there
is more to the world than what we can know. The Meta Physicist is a person
who has dedicated himself to understanding spiritual matters. In opposition
to the nano technician, the Meta-physicist believes that not everything
about the nano formulas can be explained with science. He is a, uh, religious
nano technician...
favourite breed: Nano
Good at: Buffing nano technology
Least favourite skills: Combat
The Fixer is the profession to contact if you want something on Rubi-Ka
that is a bit unusual. They are able to "arrange matters". It could be
some stims that needs to be smuggled into the city, a person that you
don't have connections to speak to, or to get something that isn't strictly
yours. The Fixer is a person who knows how to get things for the right
price in the future urban society of Anarchy Online. On a mission the
character is good for disarming traps and opening locks. All in all, an
extremely useful character if you are willing to do things that aren't
strictly legal. Also, the Fixer is the very best to travel in "knowledge".
They can summon items for you, for a price of course.
Favourite breed: Opifex
Good at: Sneaking, social skills.
Least favourite skills: Heavy combat, complex weapons.
The professions can be easily described as development cost schemes. The skill list contains various types of increase costs. Example: Normally it costs 2 IP pr ability increase and 1 pr skill. With the profession scheme, these might vary from 1 to 4 points. So where it cost 50 IP to increase from 49 to 50 in a skill, now it might cost 50, 100, 150 or even 200.
The various professions have several titles, reflecting your current level.

The level of a profession is dependent on how long you have worked in
that profession.
