WRITING
ASSIGNMENT #3 - Toxin
PROMPT
You have read and heard opinions and facts from many different sources in this unit. Now it is your turn to say exactly what you think. Your assignment is to choose one aspect about food borne disease and present your understanding of it. You could do your research on the USDA, the meat packing industry, medical treatment, preventative measures, or any other element you clear with your teacher.
Remember this requires research that has been documented. You can use your letters from before or even the research you did to create your brochures, but remember this is a growing project so even more support should be collected. Consider counter-arguing by getting the meat packing industry’s position or possibly that of your local restaurant.
This information will be presented in multimedia form. That means that in addition to your brochure you will need a least 2 other form of media. One will need to be electronic (PowerPoint would be an excellent idea) and the 3rd is up to your discretion. Make sure to clear this last form with your teacher, but the more creative it is the better.

PROOFREADING
This project should be both fun and thought provoking. Mr. Nicholson will schedule several days in the library, but remember this is a large project - use your manpower effectively. You will need to provided some way of storing the information, either on the server or through email. Do not expect a floppy disk to get you through any more than the initial stage of this project.
