The premier mercenary unit is where I'd want to ply my trade if I was an Inner Sphere Mechwarrior. Maybe Beowulf is a second generation Dragoon, son of one of the original Clanners sent to scout the Inner Sphere. Career starting around 3025 would see him in command rank when the Clans finally invade, if he lives that long.

Or perhaps Beowulf is a Clanner, genetically born and bred. A die-hard Warden from Clan Wolf, fighting in the invasion and now stationed in the Inner Sphere, waiting for another chance to get at the Jade Falcons. Perhaps he's even related to the Dragoon Beowulf through common genetic heritage. They may even get to fight side-by-side...
