The Tampon Bomb was not such a new idea. I see it has been around for a while. So what about the Wig Bomb? Can not a wig be made of different strands of hair each made of or impregnated with different chemicals, innocuous themselves, but when a catalyst is applied they explode or ignite? That would not be impossible to detect - but difficult. How those boffins in WWII could let their imagination run riot, what with their exploding rats etc.

What about glasses made of such chemicals, false fingernails - the list is endless. The only weakness is that you may well need several bombers on the same plane, thus raising the chances of detection.

Let us hope this never happens.
