BRITAIN - MULTICULTURAL ?
BRITAIN MULTI CULTURAL ? We hear so much about Britain being a multi-cultural society. But what does this really mean ? It is, in my opinion, nothing but the putting of a nice gloss on a crisis, resulting from the failings of successive governments to handle the immigration problem; and a mounting problem it has been for some time. First of all, let us dispel the notion that we are dealing with refugees. For the most part, we are not. There have been many genuine refugees seeking asylum in this country and we welcomed them. Quite rightly so, but we no longer should. A moratorium should be put on the admittance of all, given that the waters have become totally muddied as to who is and who is not a refugee. For without any doubt, the proportion of refugees entering Britain is small. The vast majority are economic migrants. These should also not be admitted for reasons given later on. Furthermore, those who have been admitted over the past five years, or even ten, should be repatriated. This should be done retrospectively. It is easy enough to do. It will cause uproar in certain circles within this country, as without, but this will subside and the action taken will ultimately be accepted. Such action would in the short term be detrimental to many industries. For example, the tourist industry would suffer both in terms of tourists coming here and in the case of the cheap labour working within, both officially and unofficially, ie those working in the black economy. Labour have turned a blind eye to this, because the economy is fundamentally in imbalance. What is maintaining it is spending. Much of this is derived from the black economy, as also from criminal activities, such as the illegal drugs industry and prostitution., but it would appear, anything goes to prop up the economy and keep this Government in power. Many colleges would go under, in that they depend upon foreign students to take up college places. Much of the agricultural sector would be hard hit in that it employs illegals from all over the world to harvest crops. We have had many migrations to England in the past. Peoples have settled here over a period exceeding 2400 years. Some established their right to stay here by force of arms, others were invited to come. Flemish weavers in the 14th century, for example, or Huguenots in the 16th and 17th, or Jews in the 18th century onwards have contributed much to this country and make it was it is now. However, they have for the most part assimilated into our culture. More on this later. The present flood of immigrants has been arriving for years, surreptitiously. They came in substantial numbers during the term of office of the last Tory administration. Yet it is during the two terms of this Government, one of the weakest we have had in decades, that the flood-gates have been allowed to open. How do we know that those coming here are not refugees ? Its quite simple ! Ask them ! Ask them before they come to this country, when gathering in France, Belgium, Germany or even outside of the EU. Ask them after they have arrived in Britain, having gained refugee status, and they will, for the most part, admit that they are not refugees. You only have to ask them but, gain their confidence first and you might be amazed how frank they will be with you. Now, I do not blame most people for wanting to settle here with their families. I am sure most of us would sooner live here than in much of the third world. If I had the choice between living in Bosnia, Afghanistan, Nigeria or the UK, I know where I would choose to live. That is not the issue. We are told our population is ageing And we need immigrants to this country. That is complete nonsense. Unemployment in this country is substantially higher than declared by this Government ( or any other for that matter ) and there is scope for many of these to work in industries where there is a shortfall of labour. It pre-supposes, however, that this Government has policies to manage society and the economy and I speak here not as a socialist, but as someone who comprehends how weak this Government is, how devoid of understanding and how this country has become virtually anarchic. This will come to haunt us within the next 10 15 years. More on this in another commentary. But where can it all end ? Should we take in the bulk of these populations ? Of course we should not. But unless positive action is taken we will face what is tantamount to a reverse colonisation in the next decade or two, with no one prepared to take a positive and decisive stance to prevent this, largely for fear of the short term ramifications of so doing. Yet it is the results, both short and longer term, of such immigration we should be considering. One such is the threat to our culture from cultures that have very little to offer us. I am not for one moment suggesting that we should be bigoted and blinkered to what other cultures can offer us and, indeed, have over a long period of time. Te we live in a society which promotes the lowest common denominator in all cultural matters, be it in literature, film, television, the internet, music, in education I could go on and on. Let us be elitist ! Let us be elitist not at the expense of those less privileged members of society, but on their behalf. Let us take what is best from others, not what is worst. The culinary influences that at long last started arriving in force in the UK ten or more years ago are very much to be welcomed. They have changed our eating habits and perhaps it is arguably for the better. Speaking for myself, I enjoyed cafe latte as a child 40 years ago. I ate real bread at a time when most British tastes were still geared towards white, sliced blotting paper. Let us enjoy what Bolliwood has to offer. This just to serve as an example. For Gods sake, let us have nothing to do with the little Englander attitude still so prevalent in many parts of this country. When I speak of culture I am talking about the English Language being contaminated by people who do not speak English and much more importantly - to a large degree do not wish to learn it. There is no point saying let us educate them, we have enough British people who are poorly educated and who need our help. When I speak of culture I also speak of religious influences, particularly that of Islam, which undermines our secular Christian society. Why do we turn a blind eye to female circumcision, as is practiced in this country. Why should we have TB establishing itself again in Britain ? Why are immigrants with AIDS admitted ? Should we have ghettos in our major cities and conurbations, basically no go areas for British people. Why should we have Muslims in this country preaching against what we stand for and who wish to have their Sharia laws in place as also their culture at the expense of ours. Of course we shouldnt. It is not only physical ghettos which proliferate, but cultural ones, and these are particularly dangerous. They quietly eat away at what makes us what we are and the direction our society should naturally take in its evolution, and evolve we must and will. We are also European, whether we like it or not, and share a cultural heritage with our cousins on the other side of the Channel. They for the most part are facing similar problems, which need to be addressed in tandem to ours. Speaking of the dangers of Islam, let me say, the Koran is a good book. If you havent already read it, perhaps you should. The way it is interpreted, the way it is misused and has been hi-jacked by Islam fundamentalist around the world is certainly dangerous. We should not tolerate those fundamentalists in our country. Those who say we should, or even if we dont they need a fair trial before being expelled are as dangerous as those same fundamentalists. Whilst I cannot agree with all the US Government have done around the world, I was sickened by the joy expressed by many in London (at least ) as the events of 11th September unfolded. I am reminded of a five hour train journey I took in Germany a short time ago. My journey was pleasantly enlightened by a North African Arab, a charming, educated man, with whom I chatted for the length of the journey. I learnt much. Seven years a resident of Germany, he had studied there, wanted to remain there and marry a local girl. Yet reading between the lines, his hostility towards the USA was quite apparent and, indeed, to a lesser degree towards the British. He could not disguise his delight at what had happened on 11th September. Now, whilst I myself am not happy with all the USA is doing around the world, what happened on that date is quite reprehensible. Incessantly drinking coca cola and smoking Marlborough Lights and, I gather, he just luuved Big Macs, I pointed out that America had contributed something to his life style ! Let us call him Ali. I have met so very many Alis over the years. He then tried to persuade me the holocaust had never happened. How did I know it had ? I pointed out that I personally knew it had, but more importantly, from his point of view, the country in which he resided had in no uncertain terms admitted responsibility. But his Imam had told him it hadnt happened. Here lies the danger. The power of his religion and those evil men who misuse and abuse it will persuade him that black is white. I say again, we do not need these people in our country; we dont need them in the EU. It is not a question of trying to persuade him that he is wrong. It would be too time-consuming, if at all possible. No, quite simply repatriate him and those with similar views. It is in the best interests of the country. In fact, I would extend that principle to all religious fanatics, be they Muslims, Jews, or whatever. We have enough of our own to deal with in Ulster, for example. There is the problem of where to expel them to. Some may face imprisonment or death in Arab countries. If that is so, so be it. It will not be easy, it will be a painful process, but it has to be carried out; better sooner than later. Let us admit, as do the Swiss, those who can offer this country something, be it badly needed skills or wealth. Let us admit those who are culturally more akin to us. If that be deemed racist, so be it. The last Tory administration under John Major has much to answer for. I suspect it was lax and unaware of the extent of what was actually happening on the streets of Britain. This administration has known but, of course, as in all else, is unable to act, but more importantly is unwilling to do act. It knows it is failing on all fronts and will, come the next election, need the votes of this immigrants.. We heard last year from a bimbo of a junior Labour minister who said we needed one million immigrants a year, because of our ageing population ! Complete dribble !. We recently heard inane comments from Diane Abbot that the children of immigrants are not to blame. Of course they are not to blame. She and her like are to blame for the crisis. But that is not the issue. To play this card trying to evoke emotions in respect of children is pathetic. We have heard of migrants threatening to throw their children overboard ships. Wise up ! One of the secular tenets of the Koran is to make money and proliferate. Do you really think they would have thrown one of their main assets overboard ? No, but they are street wise enough to know they can manipulate nave people like Abbot. Corruption within the Channel Ports, within Immigration and Customs and Excise is rife. Yet immigration can be stopped. We are lucky in that we are an island and EU regulations should be circumvented if necessary to put up barriers to it. It is critical that barriers are put up throughout the EU, on all its borders. Most Europeans feel the same way, even if many of their Governments are as weak as ours. We have seen the reaction in France to immigrants, or perhaps more importantly here in Britain. The people of Britain for the most part resent immigrants and this cuts right across party lines. Labour supporters, Liberal Democrats and Tories speak here with one voice. Yet politicians, especially those in the Labour Party will not acknowledge this. They believe this to be dangerous ground, a policy of the right It is, in my opinion, no longer a matter of being left wing, or right wing in fact such definitions are in todays world rather muddied and dated. Yes, we have Blunkett making his announcement about Britain being swamped. He is one of the few voices within the Government prepared to tackle a serious problem, to speak out against Blair and his incompetents, but even he cannot see the wood for the trees ! I say it again and again, go onto the streets, look and be prepared to listen. It might just be one hell of an experience for most. Instead a great tragedy is unfolding.
