Danny loves Matt for his mind.
Well, and for other things too, because have you seen the guy? But mostly he loves him for the way that words can just trip out of his fingers onto the page like they were meant to be there, and they'll almost invariably be some of the funniest things that Danny's ever heard. In all honesty, he kinda hates it, hates that all that talent can be smushed into one head, because really, what's left for the rest of us? But every time he stands there beside Matt and watches the cast bringing his words to life, it's a little bit of magic.
He loves the way that they banter too, because Matt always manages to bring out the snark and funny that's hiding in Danny. He's not a funny guy, really. He's just been hanging around Matt for one year too many and some of that brilliance has sunk in by osmosis or something. It's one of those questions that always gets asked in interviews: how do you and Matt work together so well?, and Danny never knows how to answer it, because how do you try to explain to the world that the reason you love this guy so much is because he makes you ten times better than you are without him?
