Why in the world did you turn yourself into a D&D character? What kind of person would do that?
One that is able to laugh at himself. I've been doing things with the Society for Creative Anachronism for a long time now, and I've noticed something. Most of the "nobles" in it have a pole shoved way up their asses. It's like they have to be so serious all the time that they haven't learned how to laugh at themselves. Come on, folks, it's a game. The SCA isn't real life, you're not lords and ladies, and most of you people need real psychiatric care. The SCA was started by fans of JRR Tolken, including the fantasy author Marion Zimmer Bradley. Yet how many people in the SCA constantly go off with "Oh, you can't wear that, it's not period..." If you're so period, take off the sunglasses, drop the cigarette, rip the fillings out of your teeth, don't bathe, etc. IT'S A GAME. Don't get so wrapped up in the details folks. Laugh at yourself. When it comes to life, you won't get out alive. |
