| Finals are over. Most everyone has left already. I have said my goodbyes to almost everyone, just the few who will be here tomorrow and one other. Watching people walk down the hall was pretty hard. I will miss all my friends here at Drew, you are all invited to come down over the summer. I am packed and ready to load the car. Should take me less than an hour, if all goes as planned. My dad is going to arive with the 'Burban at around 9 tomorrow morning, we will throw everything in, a quick rest stop at Gran and Granddad's before we head home. We should be back in time for dinner at the table. I am so excited, but at the same time, it feels odd that this will be the last time I will wake up in this place I have come to know so well. As Chris put it, "If you live somewhere shitty enough for long enough, you start to love it." Of course we can only say that once we are no longer bathing with bugs and start bathing with hot water again. Good bye Drew. I will see you in a few months. |

| My freshman year is over. What have I gained? A stronger faith and even stronger beliefs in the politics I defend. It is a more mature view too I think. I still think of myself as young though. How odd is that. Well what else have I gained? A hell of a bottle collection if I do say so myself, a stronger appreciation of country music, strengthened my chop-sticks ability, a whole slew of new and very different and diverse friends, the beginings of a new language, a better wardrobe, better music selection (both wider and deeper than before), a capoeira belt, and a knowledge that I can succeed when faced with some of the basics of human survival. Thats not bad for 9 months. Oh also some mad GTA skills, lets not forget those. To all the people who have helped me with those things over the past months, and to all my friends, have a great summer and I will see you in September. To everyone back home, sorry, this post really isn't about you. I am allowed to do that every now and then. Suckers. I can't wait to see you all. peace, teh Author. |
