| Well it hasn't been too long since my last update, but a fair bit has happened and a lot is in the works, so lets get down to it. Today is Clea's 19th b-day, tomorrow is Chri5's 21st. This weekend should be quite enjoyable. Former President Clinton came to talk at Drew. I went to see Die Zauberflote at the Metropolitan Opera House instead. I get my first belt in capoeira a week from Friday. I am getting a tax refund for the first time ever There are only 4.5 weeks of Drew left this semester. It's scary how quickly the time went. I am looking forward to getting home and working my ass off. I need the green. Everyone seems to be getting sick, which is not cool, I blame alergies |

| There is a lot of racial tension at Drew right now. The Acorn (our student newspaper) ran a joke article on April Fools Day about the new African Studies Major. The problem was they wrote the article in ebonics and implied that only blacks or whites who wanted to be black would take it. The article also said there were no blacks here, just blacks who wanted to be white. They have since apologized and agreed to take classes on being more racially sensitive. Some members of the black community responded by contacting the local media and putting up posters with the acronym "Damn Racists Every Where". Apparently there was also a fight on campus that was in some way racially related. All I have to say is, I find it curious that a campus that calls itself so liberal and open is home to so much racial tension. I think everyone is being stupid frankly. If there truly was a discrimination problem at this school, then people would be beating the crap out of each other. I don't even hear people saying "damn (insert ethnic slur for minority group here)". peace, teh Author |
