Viki

Story:  Wow, Suikoden is a cool game.  This characterization rocks.  So my older brother (not Bahamut) is walking through these woods to the elf territory type place.  And poof, a girl appears at a bridge out of nowhere giving us all a heart attack.  But she looks really neato and all and a female pure magician could be a cool party member to have along.  Of course my brother chooses to recruit her, while we're all left wondering what that was all about and why she seemed so confused (Heh, we were confused at Viki's confusion, go figure).  Course, when he finally got back to the castle, I found to my horror that, GASP!  She wasn't a playable character!  Good thing Konami fixed this evil EVIL fact in Suikoden II.

Viki's Profile

Pet-Peeves:  Evil stuff

Commentary

Couldn't put her in the party but at least she was damn useful for teleporting around.  Come Suikoden II and the discovery that she was a playable character, I used her almost all the time... even though she was pretty terrible.

Personality:  Viki's... funny.  Usually with scatterbrained girls you get some sorta ditzy bimbo.  But Viki's definately not that at all (kinda ditzy though).  That naiveness is a breath of fresh air in a world constantly plagued with war and death.  Not much else to say since she doesn't get a very large role in either Suikodens though.  She provides some interesting comedy relief though.  And she's cute.

Looks:  Viki looks nice.  Nice hair, nice clothes, cute look etc.  Meh, I don't like girls who rely on scantily clad clothing or endowment as their main... attraction.  Don't we have enough of those?  And of course her general looks are guaranteed to not change too much from Suikoden to Suikoden because she's the same age in all of them thanks to her time-travel ability.

Battle:  Viki has the highest luck of all 108 stars.  What the hell is that good for?  Tengaar's better than her at magic, she has a short range weapon, her magic defense is only semi good for a mage, she has all the physical abilities of a mage (not much), she only has two rune slots, and every once in a while she screws up her spells and accidentally vaporizes the whole party.  I love it.

Other:  Well, listening in on other peoples' conversations and Richmond's secrets, it's easy to conclude that she somehow accidentally teleports herself through time.  Judging from the fact that she always meets the hero in a forest, I think it's destiny or something that guides her.  Course, I write about that enough in her Suikoden II RPG chapters.  Yeesh.  Now does anyone know what the hell Waffu means?

Quotes

In her sleep:  "I'm so sorry, I screwed up again."

About... rapists:  "Eh eh eh?  This is bad!"

General:  "Huh?  What?"

Maximum amount of consecutive question marks:  "? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?"

Request to McDohl:  "Won't you protect me?"

Request to Hero Genkaku (for lack of a better generic reference name):  "Can I stay at your place for a while?"

Huh?  What?  Why do Yuffie and Ellen get bigger paragraphs?  Konami needs more Viki!  Ah well.
