COFFEE!!!

This Message was posted on the sinfest Forum a while back, I wrote it, although sadly, I recieved no replies. I personally believe that this is one of the most significant pieces I've ever written, with the possible exception of the one story about the Jewish Nazi Smurfs back in High School. I hope to unearth that tale, it was exceptional... However, this one is far more personal, I mean, after all, who really can relate to Jewish Nazi Smurfs? But Coffee? Cappuccino, in particular, is something available to all... And Starbucks really does not do so bad a job. I have sampled some of the best, and some of The worst that Italy has to offer (Average Roman Cappuccino is too hot, Autogrill Cappuccino is too much like mud, the "swill" of cappuccino, if you will, The stuff in Rimini is overpriced, and the stuff in my 2nd home region of Verona was served (almost always) perfectly. Starbucks falls in around 6 to 8 out of 10 stars I'd say.



	Coffee, the very nectar of the gods, when ground to a fine powder, and steamed of it's extract, creates espresso, noted for it's glorious crema. By itself, it is a rough, demanding fluid. However when combined with a small amount of sugar, or, for the exotically adventurous, cane sugar, and 2-3 equal parts of steamed milk, the drink takes on a new aura, and becomes miraculously transformed into Cappuccino, it's glorious sister/brother drink, who is there to tantalize, please, and AWAKEN. One can feel it close to them, as this wonderful aroma gently brutalizes the senses, telling the brain "everything in the world is right". Bringing the sweet concoction close to the lips, the scent becomes stronger, more insistent, and seductive, urging you to indulge yourself, and your sense of taste, in this breathtaking adventure. On the lips, this luxurious intoxicant coats the palette, neither cooling, nor burning the mouth, and the taste buds cry out painfully in ecstasy, as sweet, sour, mild, and pungent combine in a dance of extraordinary perfection! As the velvet drink graces the body, down the trachea, the entirety of your mouth and throat are left with heavy traces of this powerful elixir, making every breath for the following moments a true experience. As the mighty flavor wanes, a sweet sultry aftertaste bastes the tongue and lips, and like the magical afterglow of intimacy with your lover, paints your skin in tones of pure bliss, which are loathe to leave your side. The mind awakens, stirred into action by the motion of this perfect fluid, and your eyes are opened wider with renewed life. Everything you touch becomes more real, and you know that there it sits, just a few very small, very easy to reach inches away, the next taste of perfection. Maybe like me, you bask in the afterglow, letting it seep gently through your body, and take the extraordinary moment to savor it, because you KNOW, that beyond a shadow of a doubt, NOTHING, will ever be like this, except your next drink, and that, is waiting for you, in your own hand.
