The Rating System Of
We here at The Reel World wanted something unique and fun for our rating system.  Thumbs and stars are overdone to death and we wanted something new, something original.  Editor and Chief Daniel A. Campisi (whose past credits include former editor of the Offical Bug-Juice Web-page and The Bug-Juice Review Station)  decided to go with what works and what he knows best.  That my friends is the DING!   A DING! is repersented by a picture of the Happy Little Stickman.  Why did we pick this?  Continue reading to find out!
Ding! is the sound of Happiness!  It is the sound of enjoyment!  The origins of the Ding date back to the days of Daniel's high school career.  This is where his friend (and fellow Reel World Reviewer) Scott Willenbrock created the Happy Little Stick Man (pictured right).  Whenever Scott wrote a note to someone he knew, at the bottom of the page he would draw a Stick man with one arm raised in the air with the caption DING! next to it.  Thus a legend was born.
Everthing in the Reel World is rated with Dings.  There is a maximum of four and a minimum of one.  There are however special cases to when a reviewer thinks a something is so good it deserves more than four or if a movie is so terrible it should get no dings at all.  These are called the Classic and Exploding Chicken Awards.
If something ranks with the greatest of all time and deserves more than four dings it can receive the Classic Award.  For example you think a certain movie is as good as Casablanca or Citizen Kane that movie is a Classic is awarded the Classic Award!
On the same note if someone thinks that a movie totally sucks ass and should receive no dings it gets the Exploding Chicken Award!
Here is the Rating Scale!
Classic Award = One of the greatest of all time
Four Dings = Excellent
Three Dings = Good
Two Dings = Fair
One Ding = Poor
Exploding Chicken Award = Totally Sucks Ass!
