Nine Inch Nails- Pretty Hate Machine
By Steve Province
Ahhhfinally, I do a review on the visionary Trent Reznor

His band Nine Inch Nails is widely popular on the techno-industrial scene, and the guy has been involved in projects that are too numerous to name.  But believe it or not, there was a time when it was all Trent.  He added the band later for touring purposes.  When it was just he, he produced music for TVT, and he made this album during that period, Pretty Hate Machine.  Is this a damn good ablum you ask?  Yes, it is.  Is it the best Nine Inch Nails has to offer?  Not really, nobut its pretty awesome in its own right.
Trent does an amazing job on the albums first track, Head Like A Hole, a song that latches onto your mind and plays in your head for days.  Its highly addicting.  The songs Terrible Lie, Down In It, and pretty much the remainder of the album follow suit.  It switches from a nice, mellow, almost hypnotizing song to a fast-paced, adrenal Valhalla.  The album is a reflection of Trents inner selfyou can tell this if youve ever seen him on TV, live in concert, or just his picture.  If you really listen to the lyrics, the songs become even more addicting.  Trent does a spectacular job mixing, recording, and producing this wonderful gem for any techno-lovers collection.  I highly recommend this album to anyone who loves music written with drive behind it.
