| Dave Matthews Band- Before These Crowded Streets | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| By Steve Province | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This being Dave Matthews Bands fourth album, I would like to point out just how much Dave likes to stick to his familiar original style and technique. Its not a bad thing, in fact, its what keeps his fans in there and loving him. The prior albums delivered tenfold to music lovers everywhere, and Crowded Streets does the same. However, DMB did something a little different this time. A few of his songs have Middle Eastern influences to them, and that is just cool. Also, Alanis Morissette makes an appearance in two of the tracks on the album, and its very interesting to hear Dave and Alanis go back and forth. Both have very different singing voices. The song Crush is arguably the best song on the album, and the most likely song to measure up to the yet unseceded Crash Into Me. Songs that stick out the most on this album are Rapunzel and The Dreaming Tree. The song Stay (Wasting Time) is the albums radio-favorite song, having received play a lot. I liked the familiar Dave Matthews acoustic guitar and horn stylings on this album. DMB is doing a very good job keeping regular hereand theyre showing no signs of stopping there. |
