Space Invaders: The Java Version
Notes
FORTH RELEASE - 18/6/05
Finanly decided to update this, after playing it some many times and realising that it took ages before it got fun. I Decided to add anouther Panel to the Game, which allows you to select the Level you Start at and how many points you get to spend on Upgrade before you even Start Playing the Game. This should make it much easy to get into the game with a kick ass ship and weither or not to have worthy opponants or to be a pure STOU and Start with no Upgrades on the 10th lvl.
Speaking of STUO, I still want to make it, but I want to get practise in on DBPro and Newton before I start making it. This is why my next project atm is a 3D game consisting of several retro games and power ups in the game will morph the game type and style and properties of the game. I also plan on trying to use Shaders in it as well. Hmm... it kinda starts out like 3D Breakout, when ever you miss the ball it will crack and damage the screen (which iwll eventually smash and Game Over). The power ups will morph both player and the enemy into different things. E.g: Enemy: Gem, UFO, Asteriod... Player: Paddle, Space Ship... (went mad on day and thought about a Snake, Pac-Man, STUO Soldier, but if they ever end up in there I'd be suprised). My destractions are WoW, Dynasty Warriors 3 (Love it Massive Melee Massacre), Unreal Torni 2004. So might be a while...
THIRD RELEASE - 23/5/04
I've done a bloody lot. Sorry it took so long, but I had other things to do, which limited the time I could spend working on this. In the nanoist of terms I did the Boss Stage, I also moved the Thread(tmr) into it's own class, but I won't go into it any further.
Well... erm.. er. As I said before I'll need to find a copy of 3D Studio Max, as before I can redo STUO I need a 3D Modeler, so I can start work on the 3D Models and the other Media & Assiocated Files, so I have something to work with when I do the Coding.
SECOND RELEASE
I decide the control system for the other game wasn't fesible(didn't work). So I decide not to go any further with it. I was basically a Single Player Version of Pong Arena on of my Multiplayer Games, like I said I could get a good way to get the controls system to work...
I think at the moment it starts of a bit slow and it is a bit hard to get new upgrades, so it seems that you are just keeping up with the Aliens. It also get extremly insane after Level 20 as there at the maxium and the moving at a distance of (10+Wave)pixels.
I want to put a Boss in this Game and I see what I can do to balence the Game out in the Next Update.
After that when this is Finished I'm Open for Requests and the Idea of ReDoing STUO when I get 3DStudios Max or anouther 3D Modeler...
FIRST RELEASE
Sorry, this ones a bit fast, though it's not that difficult. I got some plans for it though. Which I'll do after then next Java Game I'm thinking of making. Then I'll start making Updates to some of the Games and expanding my Skills with Java and the DirectX API. After I get a 3D Modeler I will be able to go back to STUO.
