Guidelines for playing a character other than the usual white-wolf character

ok, guys, this whole page is ooc, allright?

As I'm writing this, I'm assuming you already know White-Wolf's rules, so I won't exploain them... if you don't know, check it out...

OK... you want to chat and interact with the friendly people of the Vampire Court... but, the character isn't a White-Wolf character... such as Kinslayer... He's not officially a White-Wolf character... but I play him, and he melds well... What you have to do, is search for that character type on the internet... there are about 4 or 5 different conversions for a Highlander-style Immortal... I found one that allows you to choose Vampire disciplines as Quickemning powers... I use that, so people understand what exactly I'm doing easier... check out B.J. Zanzibar's World of Darkness... it's a very good site, with tons of conversions... also check out The Great Minds Project... it's another great site...

Now, let's say you know what you want to be, it fits great, but you can't find any conversions... here's what you do... Make your own... use the usual white-wolf format, and be original and inventive... your character might have powers similar to a Vampire's... go ahead and use disciplines... if not, in the description of the powers put" works the same as Celerity" or whatever it happens to be...

OK, you've made your own conversion... now.... let others see it... create a homepage... Use geocities... it's easy free, and easily accessible (yes, it crashes occasionally, but it's better than Angel fire, which has a server that is slower than sh*t...). But hey, if you can use something else, go for it... If you don't wan to maintain a page (God knows I don't have a lot of time myself) then send a copy to one of those Archive sites I mentioned earlier... they're always looking for submissions...

OK, now you say "But I want to play Ares, god of war..." Know what I say to people like that? Tough sh*t... don't do it... no one likes God characters... you try and kill them, and you're dealing with Divine influence here... it's just majorly uncool... Some people claim that Kinslayer's a god character... i played him tabetop for a very long time, and yes, he's powerfull, but he's actually died numerous times... the person that killed him always to stupid to take off Kinslayer's head... oh well, they better deal with it, because that's just what he is... Immortal's are powerful creatures, but tey're not invincible... when creating your character, don't make him all-powerful... it's just uncool... majorly Kinjiru, man...

Next, you're saying you want to play a character from a different game system than White-Wolf... Great... Convert them to White-Wolf rules and have at it... More power to ya, I say... It adds flavor... just remember not to make them all-powerful either... We have jedi-knights visit occasionally, and they walk in and do all kinds of crazy sh*t to us... Most uncool, if you ask me... It would very groovy of these people to remember that Jedi are not perfect... take the rules from West-End Games and convert them, if you really want to play them... the systems aren't that different really... one is 6-sided die based, the other 10-sided.... not that hard...
I might add to this later, but these are the basics... later... folow the guidelines, and you SHOULD be able to stay alive for a while...
