"The Maiden's Folly Inn"

The Inn

"The Maiden's Folly Inn" is a large two story Inn, of half fitted river stone and half sturdy oak timbers. This justly popular Inn sees alot of business, from Merchants and traders traveling along "Rauthauvyr Road" and "Moonsea Ride". Due to its location, numerous Rangers, Trappers and Forresters frequent this Inn as well. The ground floor is made from carefully fitted river stone and has numerous arched windows with carved wood shutters in beautiful hunting scenes. These windows and the great double doors, at the entrance, are left open during the summer months to let in the cool Daleland breezes. The first floor is a very spacious Taproom/Tavern with the kitchens situated in the bend of the building. There are three large riverstone fireplaces with polished oak mantles at both ends of the Inn and one is in the Kitchens. Large glass Tabac containers and a few books sit on the Tavernside fireplace mantles, for the patrons enjoyment. Along with two Stone boards. (Stones: A game played on a checkered board with each player having different colored stones. Similar to checkers.) Two large many antlered Dale Deer heads are mounted to either side of both Tavernside fireplaces. The Tavern is rarily without the music of a visiting Minstrel or Bard.

The interior walls are lined with carefully fitted dark wood panels and two large wood frame antlered chandeliers with oil lamps, hang overhead at both ends of the Tavern. A Oakwood bar runs the length of the Kitchens and numerous sturdy oak tables spread out into the Tavern. Proudly hanging on the walls, all around the Tavern well out of arms reach, are relics the Inn owner has collected over the years. There are old battered shields, rusted breastplates, cracked helms, broken spears, a few old swords of differing design, a pitted dwarven axe, a rusted plow blade and even a very large many fanged elongated bone-white skull. Which the owner swears is a red dragon's skull, that him and his old adventuring party had slain. Behind the bar, hanging in a place of honor, is a scabberded bastard sword of fine make, a silver inlayed curled ivory horn and a dark metal buckler. At either end of the Tavern, ornately carved wood staircases lead up to the Guest Rooms.

On the second floor is where all the Guest Rooms for rent are located. They are available from two person and four person using the public Jacks and bath. The private rooms have adjacent jacks, but there are only a limited number of these rooms. This Inn is very popular, so often as not you get stuck with whatever rooms are available. Each room has; a wood framed feather mattress bed, a wood table, a oil filled hooded lantern, a padded comfortable chair, a solid oak closet with iron banding and hasp lock. The key issued for the room also fits the closet. The rooms with windows have curtains, changed according to season. Some of the rooms have artwork, such as a tapestry or painting. Only the private rooms have a small operating fireplace.

The Owner

"Maiden's Folly" is owned and operated by Corwin Sinibar and his two lovely daughters, Celeste and Rowina. Corwin Sinibar is a middle aged man with a deep chested build and of middling height. His shoulders are strong and not unfamiliar to hard work. His strength is sometimes hard to believe when you compare it to his beginning paunch. He was a lifelong friend and adventuring companion of Darthon Graymar. Together they joined the Riders of Mistledale to learn swordcraft and finally they formed an adventuring company. After many years of living the life of an adventurer, they both went back to the Riders of Mistledale. And upon Darthon Graymar's death, Corwin Sinibar retired and opened this Inn near the sight of his beloved friends burial.

The "Maiden's Folly" has comfortable accomidations, but what keeps the patrons returning, year after year, is his charming daughters and the exquisite cuisine put out by the kitchens. People come from all around for "The Folly's" best dish, Roast Venison. Many roasts of varying kind are served here as well as a wide assortment of drinks.

Maiden's Folly Stables

Are located directly behind the Inn. They are also owned and operated by Corwin Sinibar. This large well cared for stable is in the business of breeding and training fine riding mounts and medium warhorses. Most of the warhorses are sold to the Tempus Brothers at "The Abbey of the Sword" in Battledale and to the Riders of Mistledale, but a few are sold to private purchasers. All manner of Tack, harness, bits, Saddles and other equine equipment is sold here as well. Along with Stabling and farrier services. "The Maiden's Folly Stables" are operated by Corwin Sinibar's only son, Fallon. He is an excellent judge of horseflesh, an accomplished horse trainer and breeder. The Stables brand is a downward pointing sword inside a circle. Horses with this brand are ranked fairly high in the Dragonreach and Daleland areas.
