| Alexandra and I go way back...all the way to 8th grade! I remember the first day of school, first period, in Mrs. Jensen's Algebra I class. It was 7:45 AM, and I was at my assigned table with three other people. It was the same old G.A.T.E. class- the same 30 kids since 5th grade. Then, however, my world was turned forever upside down. In walked this timid blond girl whom I had never seen before. Who was this stranger? Wouldn't you know it, a couple days later she spoke up...and out came THE coolest British accent ever. She was an insant hit with the other children. Everyone was anxious to hear the sophisticated and foreign accent of English Alex! Everyone wanted to hear about her castle and her moat! Fascinated as I was with Alex, I befriended her. Soon we had developed a fun and educational friendship. Together, we made a giant pez despenser for Geometry, explored the endless possibilites of rhumbi, and created Boris Yeltsin, the talking pencil. Now, many years later, she is down at UCSD, pre-med, and I am up here at Stanford, with no forseeable, coherent path. Alex- thanks for all the wonderful times. You'll always be one of my dearest friends. | ||||||||
