| Ten Forward bartender aboard the Enterprise-D. Guinan was a member of a race of listeners, but her people were nearly wiped out by the Borg in the late 23rd century. The few survivors among her people escape dby spreading themselves across the galaxy. Guinan was born sometime in the 19th century, making her about 500 years old when she served aboard the Enterprise. Her father was about 200 years old at the time of her birth. She also had an uncle named Termin. Guinan and Q were acquaintances, having met each other two centuries ago, but neither have been particularly enlightening about the encounter, save for the fact that neither liked each other. She has been married several times, and had many children. Guinan possesed an unusual sense that extended beyond normal linear space-time. Much remains unknown about Guinan, largely because Star Trek's producers have made a conscious decision to keep much of her background a mystery, although it is possible that a future episode or movie may reveal more about her people and her past. |
