The Barefoot Horse
I started trimming in the fall of 1998. I started out with a little shetland we had, and once I was trimming fairly well mom let me move up to the bigger horses the next spring. I've been doing all our own horses feet ever since. I've advertised a little, but competion is hard with people that have certificates in this field. I have a little training from a guy that has attended many Strausser clinics.  I really don't believe in this  type of trimming with the low heals and long toes, so just like I do training I use what I like and through out what I don't. I do it more as a friendly favor of $10 per horse. I hate to see a horse suffer from uncared for feet.
Here I am trimming Fyre for the first time since we'd bought her. Her feet her a little long but after I was finished she had the most perfect feet.
After we're done she got plenty of praise for behaving well. Especially for being tied up and having her feet done. Most horses would fuss around.
