The Devil's Journey...

The Devil's Journey To See His Gal Dropped-Dee Just A Half-Step Down The Road
By Dadfad
I really couldn't think of what to do (didn't know which style to go for, etc). So I got an idea. Since we all always make fun of our two favorite newbie questions, I figured I'd do a tune called "The Devil's Journey To See His Gal Dropped-Dee A Half-Step Down The Road", which is an amalgam of finger-style acoustic work in.... (take a wild guess!!! LOL). Anyway....... This is an original tune (meaning it was blatantly plagiarized) in the style of Blind Lonnie Jorma O'Johnson, a fine guitarist who has been a tremendous influence in my music over the years [Big Kev: I'd guess at Blind Lemon Jefferson, Lonnie Johnson and Jorma Kaukonen. I'll swear I heard some Mississippi John Hurt too!].

Equipment: Played on a 1934 Gibson "The Jumbo". Recorded direct with no enhancement, guitar-to-mic, through a Shure S-55 to a Marantz PMD-221 single-track analog deck. Recorded at home.
