C R E S T E D - G E C K O S
Daytime Temp: Between 72 and 80 degrees for most of the year. At temperatures of 85 degrees or warmer, Crested Geckos will become stressed, which could lead to illness or death.

Nighttime Temp:
Cresteds can tolerate night time temperature drops down into the mid 60's.

Heating Equipment: None, do not heat these reptiles!

Lighting Equipment: A very low wattage red or black bulb would provide maximum viewing pleasure without stressing the Gecko. Also a low wattage fluorescent light would provide the Gecko with a natural day cycle and night cycle when turned off at night.

Humidity Needed: Small amount of natural moss scattered through the tank, Cypress Mulch or Eco-Earth bedding, when misted lightly twice a day will provide the right amount of humidity.

Water & Food Needs: A small shallow water dish is perfect for these Geckos. Crested Gecko Diet should make up atleast half of their diet, small pieces of fruit, high quality fruit yogurt, fruit baby food and crickets should make up the other half.

Housing Needs: Hatchlings to four month old crested geckos can be housed in 10 gallon aquariums or similar plastic keepers. In some cases, young geckos housed in large cages will not eat well. To avoid that we recommend that geckos less than 12 weeks old be housed in cages no larger than a 10 gallon aquarium. Four month old to adult crested geckos should be housed in a 20 gallon tall aquarium or larger. Three adult cresteds can be comfortably housed in a 29 gallon aquarium. Screen Cages have also been used with great success. Keep in mind that regardless of what type of cage you use, that height is more desirable than length or width, particularly with adult geckos. There are now many glass and screen cages and terrariums that are designed specifically to house reptiles. These reptile specific terrariums have many advantages over aquariums designed for fish, and should definitely be considered even though the cost is a bit higher. They are available at almost all specialty reptile shops as well as large discount retailers. Cypress Mulch or Eco-Earth bedding is perfect for these reptiles. Note, you should provide these animals with plenty of vines, foliage and smooth branches for them to climb on. It is possible to put two females together if they're well fed and the cage is large enough, or a male and a female (if you're prepared for eggs), but do not put two males together.

Size & Temperment: Jumpy at first but warms upto people quickly, very sweet. They average 8 to 10 inches when fully grown.

Side Note: It is perfectly fine to handle these Geckos, I encourage you to do so, as long as you do so gently and never grab these lizards by their tail, as it may break off.. They do not grow back on this species.
