We had researched several breeds before settling on a cute white and gold bundle of fluff in 1994, our Carousel Se-Aires Max Kan-Du. He has a talent for talking to you with his eyes. We have never had a dog before that would stare at us like Max does. Regardless of his "fru, fru" appearance he has proved to be quite a lover of the outdoors and thinks that he will actually catch a squirrel some day. He has learned all the basic obedience commands and some tricks. We have not done competitive agility but he does the obstacles at the police dog course with a little coaxing and some jerky. His favorite treat is to lick the tapioca pudding dish clean.
In 2002 we decided to get a "brother" for Max and purchased Rizare's Aura Sun Dancer, Rusty. His color is a gold and white OES. When we purchased him we did not have the intention to show him but were encouraged to as he began maturing. He entered his first show in August 2002 and got Best of Breed....he was the only TT entered! We went to handling classes and started showing in earnest that October with lots of help from Ron Jaramillo who handled Rusty the majority of the shows. On May 16, 2003 Rusty became a Champion with a 4 point major at the Del Sur Kennel Club show in San Diego, CA. He is our energetic one...always ready to chase a ball or rope toy. Rusty communicates with his voice rather than his eyes. He has several different tones and volumes to his woofs and yaps to tell us his needs. Now that he has completed his championship we will start on obedience training.
Our TT's live in the house with us, sleep on our bed, sit on our furniture and have traveled around the country with us in our motor home. We find them to be excellent companion dogs. The breed is supposed to be reserved with strangers but both of our boys love all people and most other dogs. TT's keep that "cute" look as they mature and are small enough to fit into any home but very athletic and sturdy for their size. Click on the links to the left to see their photo pages.
