Glimpse Of Eternity

I caught a glimpse of eternity today...

A smooth fleeting utterance of timelessness...

A snippet of the ethereal shining from your dark mysterious eyes...

You took my hand and wrapped it tenderly within yours... smiled softly and simply said... "Hello my friend, I have been missing you."

My heart stood still...palms began to moisten... my breath was held

So hungry for your tender touch...your soothing words...

And then it happened...

For one sweeping moment... time stood perfectly still...

For one pithy instant...one wink of your eye...

I understood all the mysterious nuances of my own dark soul... could recite every romantic poem I ever reluctantly read... suddenly I knew

the words to love songs not yet written...

Silently compelled to whisper tender caring words... foreign words of awe and wonder...long left foolishly unsaid...

For one precious moment... my heart reached out to your heart...

Sweetest of friends, you helped free me of yesterday's sorrows... and the sullen fears of tomorrow.

I caught a glimpse of eternity reflected in your eyes today... just one swooping moment... suddenly my soulman is different...

I am a changed man... tearfully humbled....

My spirit joyfully reaching towards a promising future. I sit peering out my study window watching over the stormy sea...

I feel compelled to speak calmness to the elements...

Feeling confident that miraculously my thoughts and words have renewed power...

You fill me with that much faith, confidence and wonder....

You are in my thoughts...
