Basics

Hi! I'm Drea (short for Andrea) and I'm the webmistress here! Look! It's Drea! I'm a 20-year-old female living in Southern California (The South Bay/ Los Angeles area, specifically.) I'm currently a Brand Rep and Abercrombie and Fitch and a Sales Associate at Banana Republic. I used to only work at Banana, but then they shafted me by giving my little to no hours. Those assholes. So, my favortie person in the world got me a job at Abercrombie. I curse profusely... sometimes. I hate a short temper and a mean streak. BUt I can also be really nice and caring. I'm a good and loyal friend. I'll only talk shit about you if I really don't like you. Otherwise, I'll just tease you to your face. I hate my car, Jeremy. He's a poopoohead... and dirty, in fact. He's also a '90 Acura Integra GS. I love jeans and sneakers and flip flops and military chinos and hats. I love outerwear of all sorts-- I have many jackets. I have many shoes. I have many hats. I like to be casual and comfortable but not sloppy. I don't like my hair, so I change it frequently. I enjoy music of all types. I have very eclectic tastes. My radio presets in my car are as follows: 102.7 KIIS, 100.3 KKBT, 105.9 KPWR, 106.7 KROQ, 103.5 KOST, 104.3 KBIG, Star 98.7, Hot 92.3, KEarth 101.1, and Arrow 93.1. That gues from pop to hip-hop to oldies to classic rock. I also have lots of Classical music on my computer. I love movies. Some of my favorites are Forrest Gump and Moulin Rouge! and Disney's Beauty and the Beast. I love to read! Books are fun. Some of my favorites are The Awakening by Kate Chopin, Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling, Mean Genes by Jay Phelan, and Charlottes Web by E.B. White. I don't like reading for school, unless it's for a literature class. My favorite places in the world include the Disneyland Resort (I have an annual pass with a yucky picture of me), Starbucks, Abercrombie and Fitch, American Eagle and the beach... "If found, please return to the nearest beach." Oh! And in bed, too. *wink* I live with my married-for-25-years parents. I have one older brother; he's 23. I like to cook, and even more so, I like to eat. I love food! I'm always hungry. I like being inspired. I like "feeling infinite." I like feeling good.

Autobiography

I was born in the Philippines at Riverside Hospital in Manila at almost 9pm on February 10, 1983. That makes me 20 years old, for all you math whizzes out there. As a child, I lived on a sugar cane farm in Bocolod, PI and frequented my Lola's home in the city of Manila. My mom was a full-time medical doctor, so, between birth and age 3, I was raised by maids, my dad, and my Granfather on my dad's side.

When I was three, we hopped a plane, and, with a quick stop in Japan, landed in California. We lives in NorCal, in a tiny mountainside town to Sugarpine, population less than 1,000. My mom was a stay-at-home mommy while my dad worked in Contracting. We had a dog names Blue and a cat named Charlie. We also had a rabbit, but I forget its name. It lived outside in the garden. We grew our own vegetables. I played in the dirt. A lot. I was a fearless little kid. Speaking of dirt, you know the phrase, "dirt poor?" That's how poor we were!

When I was almost 5, we moved down to the greater Los Angeles area. We lives with my Lola and Aunt and two Uncles for a while. Then we moved out at I started school. I went to Washington Elementary and stayed at Fun Ship Daycare. For second grade, we moved and I transferred to Zela Davis Elementary. I played a lot basketball around that time. We had this game that we'd continue every morning before school started... The score was like 200 something. Haha! My second Grade teacher was scary. I finished Zela Davis and went on to Williams for 4th and 5th grades. All I remember from there was doing a lot of afterschool activities, the specifics of which I don't remember and running a lot of miles. Oh, I was first chair flute in Orchestra though. After that, I went to Yukon Intermediate for a year. I read voraciously. Somewhere in elementary school, my brother and I were riding our bikes around the block when we got into a serious collision with a group of kids who ran without notice, out of their driveway and into the street.

I attended Dana Middle School for 7th and 8th grade. That was generally a good experience. (O: I met some of my best friends (and neighbors) there. That school had some strict ass rules though. There was a lot of drama and shit talking there. Lots of puppy love young couples. Plenty of letter-writing. I remember the Asian Persuasion, which still tries to get together from time to time. I remember lots of sleepovers. I remember thinking we'd all be friends forever. But that didn't work out. But i'm happy with who I got stuck with.

After I graduated middle school, I matriculated at the California Academy of Math and Science (CAMS). While, in actuality, CAMS was only 1/5th of my life, it really feels like much more.

Freshman year was full of new people and new opportunities. it was all aboutThe Korean Boyz and Roza, Mary, Julia, and I; The ASS girls and the WAS boys; spending LOTS of time with Roza; pre-"Skip" Skip and "MIKE;" Daniel; JR; mistakes; having PO-tential, and so on. Some of my favorite memories of freshman year come from PE with SKip and the 4 Million Years Project. We had Physical Earth.... which was like, the easiest subject. It was me, Roza, Virginia, and Daniel. Flat land sucked, though.I went to a lot of Key Club events, but only when my brother went.

Sophomore year was all about continuing to be everybody's little sister, spending more time with Roza (and her "eye disease"), Black and Yellow: What Happens When You Mix It Up; tears; Key CLub; Divisional BOard; learning to break; seniors whining about college; "bestest bestest friends"; Narbonne kids; North High boys :OT; Dawson's Creek analogies; and Magnus' skank hoes. If I ever want to be reminded of Sophomore year, just take me to Bebe and play Q-Tip: Vivrant Thing. =D Sophomore year was one of those times where there was so much going on and so many people around that I just never got a chance to be lonely. We stayed after school a lot on Wednesdays, and one time Ann and I traded pants (Khakis for Express windbreakers) for no reason at all.

Junior year was equally gratifying. I was elected Key Club President, and took on some active positions in Student Council. Looking back on it, I think Student Council was more my thing than Key Club. I felt I got more accomplished there. But I remember that my Key Club Installation Banquet was in a Barn for crying out loud. We got stranded at Knott's Scary Farm that year after an earthquake. I was Autumn Formal queen. Urbanscape was fun. Brian was supposed to run to my house that morning and wake me up, but it rained. Lots of riding around in Amir's Integra. Northern College tours were fun too. Amir forgot his blowdrying and had a hard time doing his hair. I really intended to go to Berkeley.

Senior year was senior year. Good and bad, it's one of those things where you take it all. I was batting 100 when it came to college applications: UCB, UCLA, UCSD, and UCI. I worked after school at Jamba Juice in Downtown Manhattan Beach. I started driving to school that year in August. By October, some psycho bitch had keyed my car. and that's all I have to say about that. More Narbonne Boys and less North High boys. But I do remember going to a North High School Football game to see David and then we couldn't find his ass. What a jerk. LoL. North lost. I retired my presidency to Godfrey. I got with my boyfriend. I got into a huge fight with one of my best friends, and later resolved it. I went to my Senior Prom. *smiles* And then, as quickly as it had started, I graduated. I sat next to Skip at graduation. We played games and he knocked my hat off when he was crackin his neck. What a fucken jerk. (O:

After a fun and eventful summer of graduation, I started at UCLA. I stayed close to home and far from my Berkeley dream. I wonder if I regret it? There's no telling now. UCLA has been a mix of studying and partying and building some really close friendships and losing some really close friendships. It was PCN and Spear, Courtside and Middle Earth. It's workign hard for a mediocre GPA. It's thinking about changing my major 70 times. It's flaling in love with English (Listerature and Composition). It's a whole lotta Gushi and 25/35 dent cookies. It's more to come.
