Lookin' Up Laikas is always pleased to hear from folks with an interest in the West Siberian Laika breed.  The traits which they have retained from their Siberian aboriginal ancestors make them particularly attractive, however, this great breed of hunting dog is not for everyone.  We encourage anyone who is considering owning a WSL to research this breed carefully.  A good source for reliable  information is the book "Hunting Laika Breeds of Russia," written by Vladimir Beregovoy.

Vladimir Beregovoy is a retired zoologist, currently living in Virginia.  He became familiar with the West Siberian Laika in his younger years while living in Russia.  We feel that the introduction of the Laika to hunters in the United States has been primarily due to his efforts.
